Does it cost $20,000 per year to maintain the Nissan GT-R?

I seriously doubt that the GT-R's scheduled maintenence would be that much.

the annual maintenance on an F430 is 'only' between $1-3k...needless to say, if I owned a GT-R I would be selling it before the odo rolled the 10,000 mi mark - $20k is ridiculous

I call bs. that would be crazy.

I figured that maintenance for a GT-R or any other supercar would be more expensive than maintenance for a Ford Focus, but this is ridiculous! I don't believe it.

It figures that Turbo/sport/midengine would post something like this. Why are we not surprised?

There are a series of Performance Optimization Services (POS) required for the GT-R. The Performance Optimization Services (POS) are inspections and adjustments (if needed) of three major vehicle performance systems: Engine settings, transmission settings, and wheel alignment. These services are required to keep the car functioning at optimal performance and are done free of charge for the first 36 months. These services are necessary to keep the warranty in full effect for these systems.

The first Performance Optimization Service is performed at 1000 miles. The subsequent services are performed at 12, 24, and 36 months. Additionally, it is recommended these services be continued annually beyond the first three years, but they will be at customer expense.
While this is not a free maintenance program since it doesn’t include oil changes or other maintenance, it should make keep the ownership costs pretty reasonable for such a high-performance car.

This site is about to take a nose dive if things like this keep happening. To pass along some anonymous guys printed words on another online automotive forum as somehow being legit industry source is not only a waste of everyone's time but show extremely poor judgment. If that posting in question had "some" credible source or info to back up the story that's fine, but this isn't it.

What is this? This is just some stuff (not credible information) from some post from some guy in some forum somewhere. Is this the kind of stuff AutoSpies puts in here? Makes me wonder about the other articles I have been reading.
