Video: Lamborghini LP560-4 - launch control system in action
So far this week we’ve brought you the video review of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP650-4 by InsideLine and Lamborghini’s new promo video for its latest bull.

To wrap up the week we bring you this video from MotorTrend where senior editor Edward Loh demonstrates the advanced launch control system on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4; or as Loh would say ‘LP560 dash 4.’ We’re just messing with you Loh - awesome video.

Refresher: 5.2 liter V10 engine that produces 552 horsepower. The new Lambo sprints from 0-62 in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 201mph.

Yeah, I think at least a dozen production cars had this technology prior to the GT-R....

Yikes, thats the best Lamborghini could do? It basically looks and sounds like it bogs right off launch, they need to take apart a GTR and do their homework.

considering the LP560 beats the GTR in acceleration, I think Lamborghini did their work already

OK, The GTR has been tested 0-60 in 3.2 seconds (Motor Trend), can you post a link where the LP560 has been tested to be faster? Car and Driver posted an experience of 3.5 sec in the LP560. I think you need to check your facts chewy

The M3 and 'vette also have Launch Control... I know with the M3 it keeps track of every time you use it, after 3 times your warranty will be voided.

The Ferrari 360 had launch control back in 1999.

Euro M5 as well...lawyers would not allow it in the states.

I guess that all the people said that it was bad or cheating when used in the GT-R must believe that it's okay now since launch control is okay as long as there's a long history and prestige behind the car.

Yeah maybe Lambo itself but the founder from Lambo worked with Ferrari (Enzo) and it branched off from Ferrari, so they have an interesting history....

Have any of you been on a US aircraft carrier?

Whenever an F-18 takes off it's in launch control.

In fact, the plane is full afterburner being held back only by the catapult.

the launch is rubbish

it's bogging off the line, it should be like this

We are talking about supercar's here. When you have a car with more than, let's say 350 hp who really care's about 0-60 times when your blasting thru that anyway? Why split hairs when so many cars are already under the 5sec mark? The people that owne these cars are not going to drag race main street on a Friday night anyway. They should be more interested in 0-100 or 60-160.

This 'rubbish' launch takes it through the 1/4 mile in 11.4 seconds.
And seeing as it is the launch control which makes it seem as if it bogges down you can't do any faster.

Why launch control on AWD? I have this on the 530, wish i had it on my Camry lol which is faster.

Did anyone happen to notice the guy is doing 280kph in a WORK ZONE? Note the orange barrels, and bigass tractors on the side of the road.
