Lexus LF-A Engine Shot

Lexus LF-A Engine Shot
Here it is, one of the first pictures of the Lexus LF-A engine. The engineer's only opened the hood at the Nurburgring 24 for a moment but we got the shot.

^ you are kidding, of course, right? About that being "almost as beautiful as a Ferrari" engine? If not and you're serious, how generous are you being with your version of "almost"? Like, extremely generous?

Not really gorgeous, but it'll be stunning if it can rev to 9000 rpm as rotary engine.

Also note how far back that engine was positioned. I wonder if Lexus did the same thing as NISSAN and Ferrari putting transmission in the back axle.

It'll be interesting to see how this impact the next M5/6 as now they are officially categorized as "sport sedan", which is probably very good term for a regular 3 or 5 series, not for M tough. My hunch is BMW will come up w/ an MR and leaves M5/6 to second tier.

You can't really be that naive? A picture of an engine in a car that NOBDOY other than a few test drivers on LEXUS PAYROLL have driven, and a conclusion is drawn that, "...this car is going to strike fear and respect into its rivals"

Do you really think the fine folks at AMG and the M Division at BMW are losing ANY sleep at all over the IS-F???

Do you think that Enzo Ferrari is rolling over in his grave sweating what Lexus is up to?

Do you really think the fine folks over at Lamborghini/Audi are choking on their wienerschnitzel upon seeing the picture of this engine?

Come on, grow up...

00j, your common is actually quite naive. i don't know whether M or AMG design folks are losing sleep. but some fine BMW and Mercedes folks (AUDI, if u like to include them) didn't lose sleep 20 years ago when Lexus first launched, and now they are in pretty series competition. some fine M and AMG folks didn't lose sleep when Lexus said it gonna launch F series, now F series enjoy a decent sales. (by no mean am i assuming is-F is better than M3 or out sold M3, but sales-vise, IS-F is not too far behind).
I sincerely hope AMG/M design folks looses some sleep, so they don't make another mistake.

But, by your own logic 00J, you can't say that it won't.

Why the hell can't people just let the LF-A exist?

If it sucks, then Lexus doesn't know what they're doing.

And if it should blow everyone away, then Lexus just copied from the success of others.

That's just retarded. Both Audi and Mercedes-Benz are two of the best companies in terms of presenting their engines. I would go as far as to say that, the R8's, swathed in carbon fiber and beautiful detailing, with LED lighting for the night time, is the most beautiful eight-cylinder engine available today.

Hey Stupid how can you compare the ls to a bentley. the dash is all cut from the same piece of wood from the same tree and that section is stored so if you need another piece of replacement wood it will be the exact same. "Look at the LS600h for example. It makes a Bentley interior look bland, outdated and even cheap."

I simply refuse to believe that one, much less those who have boosted you, are so spectacularly deluded as to actually believe such a blatant falsehood.

Have you ever been in an Arnage? The interior may look like that of a Sopwith Camel with a steering wheel, but one thing it is not, particularly when compared to some Lexus, is cheap.

MichaelTaylor:

Ok we take it you have been inside a Lexus but I own one. It's by far the best built Japanese luxury cars in the market. However to say it betters the offerings by it's rivals it's purely subjective. I've owned Germans all my life and I've never thought less of them after purchasing my Lex.

You seem to have everything twisted. It shows when even Lexus owners deboost you. All you have are the fanboys.

Engine in the production car should be even more attractive than its Ferrari counter part... although with the Ferrari, you'll also benefit from the "hand warmer" feature :)

The Audi R8 never started the race.

Apart from some Audi's that didn't finish the race the LF-A was only finished above the Privateer 1989 Audi V8. The Audi R8 at that was also a privateer team.
