Porsche takes 8 of the top 10 spots at Nürburgring 24 hours
It’s always nice to see the finish line at the end of the race’ but when you’re racing for 24-hours the sight of the finish line can be a very emotional one. Porsche dominated the top 10 list at the race occupying eight of the spots.

Porsche’s 911 GT3 RSR, driven by Bernhard Timo, Lieb Marc, Dumas Romain, Tiemann Marcel, came in first. Second placed was held by the Porsche 911 GT3 MR followed by the Porsche 997.

BMW’s Z4 M and the M3 GTS were the only two cars in the top 10 stopping Porsche from taking over the list coming in at fourth and sixth place respectively.

Volkswagen’s much hyped Scirocco GT24 came in 11th. Other cars that we were keeping an eye out for were the...

I would only be impressed if Ferrari also had entries in this race. Porsche is made to dominate these races and it is no surprise to me they won so easily. All the other car makers created their models using the "Ring" to fine tune the drive but Porsche uses the Ring as part of the car's DNA. Ferrari is the only other car maker that takes racing in the GT class seriously, so it would be the only true competition for Porsche. The Lambo as a race car is a total joke - they are all flash but no substance. When was the last time Lambo did anything of significance in organized racing?

I wonder how Nissan's GTR will do next year? It completely dominated the 911 GT3 in a 1-2 lap test, but a 24 hour race would truly put this car to the test.

I agree with most of what you said. Yea, I think that ferraris in the race would definitely give porsche some run, but I still think that Porsches are more hardcore street circuit cars (especially endurance races). Lambos, they will never, NEVER, get factory backing, because their company is built on "never racing".

As for the GTR, I understand giving the GT3 a run, but dominate? give me a break...

The Lamborghini Gallardo was a privateer team, many of the Porsches had big budget tuners and factory backing.

The Lambo started of pretty good actually driving in the top 5 for the first 2 hours, just like the Aston martin DBRS9. But after about 3 hours they both ran into problems.
