Aston Martin Chairman: Aston not for sale, in talks with Benz and Ford on engines

At the Nurburgring 24-hour race last weekend, Dave Richards, chairman of Prodrive and Aston Martin, killed rumors that Aston is for sale.

“The company is not for sale,” said Richards during the Nurburgring 24-hour race. “This speculation is only there because we are talking to people all the time about engines. But we are always talking to people, and it doesn’t mean we’re for sale.”

Rumors have been circulating that Prodrive and investors would be happy to take over Aston Martin which was bought by two Kuwaiti investment firms in a deal led by Richards. Rumors even started that Mercedes-Benz might pick up the company when talks started on sharing components.

I think a Mercedes engine in an Aston would be a much better formula than a Ford, don't you think?

Mercedes powers the Zonda and that's among the most exotic cars in the world.

Hopefully the talks are only with MB, we don't need another 427 powered car. They could use the Black Series AMG engines, the retuned 6.2 V8 and the 6.5? V12

And that is precisly why you aren't Aston Martin. They do make great engines but how many of them are in performance cars? I count 1 (GTR). Please stop spamming this website with all your stupid flaming comments. It makes it much more of a chore to read for us less biased people.
