GM: Two-thirds of Camaro’s business will come from 27mpg V6 sales

While most of us probably agree that cars like the Dodge Challenger and the upcoming 2010 Chevrolet Camaro face bad timing, automakers have a more optimistic outlook and are looking to new powertrain options and their approach to marketing their new muscle cars - well at least GM is.
In interview with InisideLine GM’s vice president of sales and marketing, Mark LaNeve, said that the ‘burn-ass hot rod’ versions of the Camaro will only account for the 30 percent of the business. “Two thirds will come from 27mpg V6 sales, with a significant female share,” said LaNeve.
Spy shots of GM’s V6 powertrain in the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro recently hit the web hinting at a 3.6 liter V6 with direct-injection technology that is found in the 304-hp 2008 Cadillac CTS.
