GM dealing with Tata and Mahindra about HUMMER

Damn, India really is going towards being up there in the New World Order next to the United Europe and China.

We in America need cheap Gas first !!!

Whereas Gas already costs twice in all the above places and they still do not seem to complain....Why ?

i sold a brand new h3 to a client. it was brought on a flat bed to my office.

customer signed and drove off. literally 500 ft from my office the h3 broke down. would not start. the flat bed that delivered it had to turn around and bring it back to the dealership to be repaired. it took them 1 week.

i like american trucks, but the build quality of these hummers sucks! remember the times when a Tahoe or Yukon could go 200k miles without any problems. just look on eBay and you will see these trucks in great shape. today these trucks are barely making it off the showroom floor.

what does that have to do with whether or not Tahoes or other American SUVS are reliable or not.......wow what a generalization

GM better not sell hummer the idiots. They finaly have a 4x4 that compete against the jeep and they want to chuck it out the window. if they sell it they are going to show that they could care less about the consumers and about having a great 4x4.

It competes only in class, not in performance. The H2 and H3 are for posers...oh and rappers.

Actually, Tata already makes a large SUV called SUMO. It seats 9 people in 3 rows and runs on diesel. I wish we could buy one of those here.

I rode in one, on a trip to India- and the beast climbed up a 12,000 ft high mountain pass not far from Tibet- without a murmur. I asked the driver what kind of fuel economy it had- and he said 10km per liter of diesel.

That's about 28 mpg US gallons. The SUMO was crude- but powerful, roomy and looked pretty indestructible.

LOL! that is indeed the one of the best hummer stories! i have one too. but first, yours reminds me of a chat with a used car dealer friend of a friend.

he sold a car, did all the paperwork, and the guy drove away. got no further than 2 blocks, and was almost ready to get on the freeway. and the car DIED right there! still within sight of the lot.

the seller of course, had to give the guy his money back, and was once again stuck with the heap!

the hummer story: a magazine writer/tester took the H1 "go everywhere" beast out to the boonies. he got a flat, and the onboard tire change kit was USELESS. so he was STRANDED until he could hike/hitch out and come back to "rescue" the supposed he-man vehicle! LOL!
