Is the Porsche Boxster a 'Chick' car?

Last Monday night I tuned into one of my favorite shows, Two and a Half Men.

The theme of the episode was Charlie's brother buys a Porsche Boxster and Charlie busts his chops, because he says Alan bought a 'Chick' car.

It was hilarious but it got me thinking...IS the Porsche Boxster a 'Chick' car?

If you want my opinion, I think it leans that way, but it is not a 'Chick' car in the sense that a VW Beetle is.

This is an old sitcom gag. It was on the Soproanos years ago when the first called the Boxster a "chick car" Anyway, any convertible could be considered a "chick car" but the Boxster is a true driver's car and I think it's generally seen as such. I would love to see more chicks driving Boxsters :) It would be a great prop for next month's SpyGirl!

Boxsters might be popular with women but I think a true "chick car" has to carry a certain stigma (fairly or unfairly :) for men. No reasonable person would wonder why a guy is driving around a Boxster--it's a great car. Most people I see driving around 3-series convertibles are women, but I wouldn't say that's a "chick car" either.

I'd say many convertibles fall into the category of being driven more (and being well-liked) by women, but most aren't particularly "chick cars" in my book. The VW Beetle convertible and Cabrio are the most obvious chick cars to me. The regular Mini Cooper is kind of a chick car to me as well, even though the Cooper S is driven mostly by men (and I certainly wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen in one...it could drive circles around my 325i).

And 001, watching Two and a Half Men is nothing to be proud of...do you love Yes, Dear as well??? Pretty stale stuff.
