Spy Shots: Audi R8 V10 and base R8 hit up Nurburgring
Earlier this month a production ready Audi R8 V10 was spotted around the streets of Nurburgring. Now the V10 powered R8 is hitting up the Nurburgring for some high-speed testing alongside its less-powerful sibling the 420-hp R8.

Comparing the two you can notice the R8 V10 gets a new chrome grille, much like the ‘S’ models from Audi, and larger side vents.

So far we’ve heard that power will come from a 5.0L V10 TFSI engine found in the R6 Avant. However, the recent Audi product launch document that was leaked says that the R8 V10 will see a 5.2 liter unit producing...

hao: i don't care if i can't catch up to a boring GT-R. Hell I would rather buy a Porsche because I am capable of driving. The GT-R is so computerized any game freak can drive it without skill.

As for the R8, the car's built so well, and the sound of it is so sweet, nothing else matters. The V10 will only be better. Believe it.

I don't even need to sit in a GT-R and know my R8 is better than it on other levels than just performance. Craftsmanship and quality materials chosen for this car isn't comparable. The GT-R in the end of the day is just an expensive Nissan with some awesome performance. A GT-R will never grace the front hotel lobby drive way of Bellagio in Vegas but an R8 will.

It's a different market for different consumers. I rather cruise in my handsome "VW" than in an expensive Nissan that only teenagers will get a WOW from after playing years of games. Not that i'm image conscious but to call an Audi a VW is ironic. Nissan was the one that was trying to make a name for itself and actually think it's on the same level as a Porsche overall.

Hate it or love it Audi's established itself years ago. My V8 motor is awesome but this new V10 will be even better. With the roadster coming it could be a symphony!

who are all these ass holes to say that the r8 is ugly or crappy- it's far from crappy and anyone that says its ugly is on crack.

But back to the story... i cant wait to find out all the stats for this car, and i hope it's under 150k.
