No people nooo. TheSailor, we need to stop fooling ourselves with saying, its not bad and its ok, since we're getting a better mileages out of the hydrogen. We need CHEAP fuel period. Thank you 001 for this article I was talking to my friend yesterday as just how much a hydrogen gallon costs and here it is more expensive than gas.

We're being screwed by the oil companies and something must be done. We all expected hydrogen will be the savior, $4.99/gl is another killer to me. Why does gas cost $0.40/gl in the gulf countries, if we can produce hydrogen here, why can't we have it for $0.40/gl as well?? These are the questions that we need to ask and get answers for and pursue them so we can save our society seriously, and not keep fooling ourselves by mileages, etc...

If today its $4.99/gl, believe me in 5 years it will be $8/gl, what will we say then?

Think about it this way: would you prefer to pay $5/gallon and get 70 miles of driving out of each gallon or pay $3/gallon and get 30 miles per gallon? Even though the price of the fuel is higher, if it gives you a longer range the cost per mile ends up being lower. So just because it's more expensive doesn't mean it's worse.

If hydrogen is determined to be the fuel of the future, the price will likely come down as the infrastructure for fueling is built up and the technology for producing it advances.

Remember, Hydrogen energy is not about $/Gl, its about saving mother earth. You need to understand that we can get better mileage out of one gallon.
