BMW's new 7-series stretch revealed

it looks like BMW is taking the safe route this go round, and going back to understated elegance like the previous generation lineup of the 3,5, and 7 I'm curious as to how the market will take this move.......which honestly are more traditional BMW it seems than the current cars

I still don't see protective side moldings designed to prevent lo-life types from dinging doors in parking lots.

Those side moldings seem not to work anymore. All new doors I've noticed tend to have a sharp point in their design somewhere above the middle of the car. What's worse are SUV's that seem to leave multiple dings with one strike.

I try to keep my doors straight the old fashioned way. Parking out far and walking and NEVER NEVER going to Walmart.

Frankly, it has been my experience that side moldings aren't going to really prevent much. I was in front of the faux Neiman Marcus here (Last call- I rarely go there. Such things would never happen at Neiman Marcus proper as my car is parked in the circular drive of Cherry Creek anyway) and some wretched woman in and Acura put a massive crater in the passenger side of my car. Unfortunately the security cameras didn't catch her.

I have lots of stories like that. In total thousands on dollars worth of damage has been done to my car by other people. Some piece of garbage backed into my trunk- which caused the car alarm of go off sporadically. That was just over $2,000 to sort out. Someone degenerate in his explorer with his two ugly hooker friends and their faux Chanel bags backed into my grille- don't recall what that one cost. On 470 a truck dumped rocks all over the highway, breaking front headlight glass- $350.

...Goodness, I've gone a bit off subject....rant over.

A fellow Denverite huh? I cant believe some of the things people seem to get away with here. The stickers that in essence say "My truck dumps rocks and it's your fault if you get hit" are beyond fathom.

A few weeks back I watched a truck with a trailer hitch and ball ram into the car behind him while parallel parking. Driver of the truck got out, looked at his own truck and left. Of course the car had obvious damage to the radiator, bumper, grill, axillary fans ect. Took the guys license plate and reported it to the police as a hit and run. Working with the car owner now as a witness to the event.

People who damage my and others personal property with such rampant disregard are scum of the earth IMO. They are the same as thieves and burglars.

The rear end treatment is gonna make or break this thing....everything else looks good so far, though

people say that but the current model that everyone wants to trash outsold the previous conservative version by a large amount the 6 series with that rear also is a very good seller, and it obviously has inspired a few competitors.....the CONSUMER liked the styling.....it was everyone else that had a problem with it

Looks like the "bathtub" just became an extra large tub.

As a long time BMW owner, I wasn't terribly impressed with the original rear end of the current 7 series...it took something away from the overall design....the redesign was better but still didn't quite hit the mark...in my opinion, the previous generation 7 was the pinnacle so far...I hope the new one makes me reconsider that thought...
