Mercedes first to release iPhone dock for new models

This is one of my pet peaves. This level of intigration between perpherals and autos needs to be the rule not the exception. And it shouldnt be cost prohibitive either, something it seems only american and japanese manufacturers have realized. BMW for one charges steeply for any tech added in options and it seems to me this practice is a backhanded profit generator

BMW has had iPhone integration for phone and MP3 since the iPhone first came out. What did Mercedes do first exactly? Create a cradle?

Mercedes is late to the game... BMW has had iphone integration since it first hit the market. My 2008 335i coupe integrates with the car's computer and is available via the idrive system. Voice command, all tracks sorted by artists, genre, etc.. Just what exactly has MB done first????
