2010 Acura NSX at Nurburgring - 550HP V10 Promise Return of Super Car Crown
Although previous video has already been posted of the 2010 Acura NSX, here is an extended video sure to excite showing the potential performance of the forthcoming super car from Acura.

The new car is rumored to be powered by a 5.5 Liter V10 engine producing 550HP and unofficial reports has the NSX running Nurburgring at 7 minutes 37 seconds.  Although the camouflage on the car makes it hard to make out the specific details, it is easy to get a feel for the general shape and style of the car.

Anticipation for the new NSX is running high as it has been almost 20 years since the original NSX, and while a class leader at the time the NSX did not keep up with increasing competition from Ferrari.  Expectations are high that this new NSX will one again seat Acura at the table of the super car elite.

The old NSX was pretty amazing. Especially since it had a V6. When Honda does something, they don't usually get it wrong. I wouldn't doubt the NSX until you know what it has in store.

M35, so what you're saying is the RL isn't a bad car, it's just a bad car compared to the cars it competes with.

I think what he's saying is that the RL is a fine car, but there are others that are better. Basically, the RL is an Accord with AWD and a bigger V6 and we all know the Accord is an excellent car. But if you put it in the luxury market, it's going to suffer, no matter how great it is in the family sedan market.

The NSX has been timed by spectators at the ring doing 7:37 in TRAFFIC... wait to see an honest time when the rest of the cars are off the track..

I think the lexus might win the looks category, and I'm sure it'll look great in the rear-view mirror of the NSX.

Certainly interesting, but...

If Honda can't get this thing into production in a very timely manner, I have to question its relevance...

Additionally, it'd better get at least 25-30 mpg, combined, with class leading track numbers/performance, to really impress and be considered truly groundbreaking.

Lexus has pretty much missed the boat with the LF-A, a vehicle first shown (in show car form) more than 3 years ago... Which, regardless of their 'relentless pursuit of perfection', is simply ridiculous.

Let's see if Honda can pull it off...

The automotive landscape has changed so dramatically in just the last 12 months, with a clear focus on efficiency and environmentally respectful engineering, that I question the market's ability to sustain all of these 'alleged' super GT's.

Of course I fully understand that these are 'niche' vehicles, and will serve mainly as 'halo cars' for their respective manufacturers, but I just don't foresee much of a market for them in the very near future.

Who knows... They're still pretty nice to hear and see.

I believe Acura has or will be selling in Japan as an Acura instead of Honda. They have followed Toyota and made it separate entities. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell this as an Acura. It depends on how much luxury amenities they pack in this new NSX. Otherwise it could be like how Nissan has marketed the GT-R.

So far so good in my mind. The sound is expected from a V10. I would consider an NSX. It's just too bad they aren't making it with mid-engine placement like the last one. I would follow tradition if I were them.

If Honda make such pathetic engines they wouldn't have been asked to supply several F1, F2 & IndyCart teams dating back to the late 60's.

In '04, Honda powered cars ruled the IndyCar Series. They won like what 14/15 races which included Indianapolis 500, claimed the IndyCar Series Manufacturers' Championship, among others. In '06, Honda became the sole engine supplier for the IndyCar Series. In the same year at Indianapolis 500, for the first time in Indianapolis 500 history, the race was run without any problems.

Tell me that isn't impressive.

There is a buzz around TOV that this is not the NSX but a sub-$100,000 GT-R competitor. It DOES kinda look small for a 10 cylinder to fit under that hood...who knows, there might be a few surprises in store from Acura...
