Details of the 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Hybrid

Dodge has released news on the upcoming Dodge Ram Hybrid. The Dodge Ram 1500 Hybrid will be unveiled during 2010. The hybrid will be combining Chrysler’s Multi-displacement System and two-mode hybrid technology and the HEMI V8 will be increasing overall fuel-efficiency by 25 percent.

This looks like it won't be a mild hybrid, but a powerful and efficient truck. I'm glad they partnered with GM and BMW. The system is great, and hopefully, it was the partnership that kept the prices of the GMC Yukon Hybrid and Chevy Tahoe Hybrid at a somewhat low price.

Here's a little tidbit that you may not know - most U.S. Dodge dealers have yet to agree to sell the Hybrid Ram. It seems each dealer needs to invest $100k or so to become hybrid certified.

If their own dealers aren't excited, what makes Chrysler think this will sell?

I still won't think they're serious until they tone down the attitude of that big-rig front end. You know, in favor of something more aerodynamic than a 4x8 sheet of plywood.
