BMW X5 clone banned from Germany

BMW X5 clone banned from Germany
BMW's fight to protect its X5 SUV from being cloned and sold at retail by Chinese manufacturer Shuanghuan has taken a strong step forward.

A decision in Munich regional court today banned the sale of the copycat car, vindicating BMW’s long-standing belief that it has a legal right to protect the design of its vehicles from such imitation.

The model in question, which Shuanghuan calls the CEO, is clearly modelled after the BMW X5, though there are some styling differences.

Not sure. But it's like shopping in Chinatown in NYC. You know the item you're buying is fake but you'll get it because they so much like the real thing even if the quality suck a$$.

Bad example of an 'original' Chinese design.

It's actually a clone of the 1st-gen Hyundai Coupe, but with added 'style'.

t is just the cost of doing business in China. Most, if not all, companies are aware that their designs will be copied and that China will learn from their technology and produce a competitive brand within 15 years. The companies still manufacture in China because the cost of producing the items is so less that it is worth the future competition.

I think chinese copy someone design not becouse they can`t do their design but becouse it`s cheaper to copy half toyota land cruiser half bmw x3 design than pay their designers or pininfarina to do different design . This is how they can remain low cost of project while having something looking "acceptable" .

Your rant is not politically incorrect, it is off-topic and racist. You veiled it nicely, probably thought it was too clever for a minority to catch, but you were wrong.

How did you get from cars to unemployment stats by race? Since Asian engineering prowess is such point of pride for you, what do YOU PERSONALLY engineer? What is your contribution to the world? Do YOU have a job?

What 'gangstas' are you talking about? Lebron James? Dwyayne Wade? LOL.

You suggest that 'jungle fever' and miscegenation is responsible for the 'dumbing down' of America. An interracial society bred Barrack Obama. An all-white society bred George W. Bush. Obviously, white people can be stupid without help from anyone else.

You must be a very insecure and sad man with a small penis and unsatisfying sex life. Guys like that always hate negros.

They come up with all kinds of racist crap to make themselves feel better about the fact that they can't satisfy a woman (which at the end of the day is the whole point to a man's life)

Society, government, politics, science, and industry all stem from a man's basic innate drive to posess and satisfy the woman (or women) of his desire. You obviously feel SMALL and threatened by black men.

I don't blame you. It's great to be tall, dark, and handsome - it's something that women of all colors like. If I weren't me, I'd be jealous, too.

I'll bet you that Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony alone will satisfy more Chinese women their first night in Beijing than 100 of the top Chinese scientists and engineers combined will do in a year.

saw the copy in real life. at first glance i thought it was an x5 then i stopped for a closer looked. it looked an felt very cheap. the materials used and the overall look was cheap. next time i am overseas i will try to get a test drive.

If the U.S. banned cloned copies of cars, Hyundai wouldn't be allowed to sell cars here ;)

We. Who is we? What research and innovation have YOU done? Who are you? If you improve yourself as an individual, maybe you won't need your faulty racial logic to assuage your dissatisfaction with life.

Women don't fantasize about scientists and engineers. They fantasize about big black dudes.

My point is that stereotypes are stupid: you are an Asian, but you are not a scholar or engineer. I am a fully employed and educated black man. of course every race has it's inherent strengths and weaknesses, but at the end of the day we are all playing the same game, looking for the same things out of life. Ultimately your success or failure is dictated by your individual actions and you must choose your own path.

Every Asian isn't a genius, every white guy isn't a racist serial killer, and every black guy isn't a dumb thug.

I wish my people would stop copying. I saw one of these when I was visiting my family overseas and at first I thought it was an X5 but when I got closer it was just a fake. I've seen other fakes but I can't pinpoint which copies they were because I was intoxicated LOL.

You are a jackass. Who's talking about affirmative action? You're all over the place. I don't know who you're talking about, but i compete fine without affirmative action, in fact i own my own business - and i don't give jobs to anyone who isn't black - how about that? You have no real point, you just want to lob thinly veiled insults. But they won't work. I'm the worst kind of negro: educated, overpaid, arrogant, and militant. I thrive on your hatred because i live for spite.

Like I said, you are a small man with black penis envy and you will say anything to make yourself feel better.

Poor, uneducated black people will not bring America down. They will get left behind and suffer in poverty just like anyone else who is not personally responsible about their education, career, and life choices. Your race will not save you, chump.

huu76,

i'm not offended. i just think you are misguided in your radical perception of things. you have a right to your opinion. but remember: everyone can't be an engineer or a genius. capitalism thrives on ignorant masses. who will serve cheeseburgers, take out high-interest loans, pick vegetables, wash cars, and peel shrimp in my restaurant?

as long as i am a part of the talented, privileged minority (haves vs. have-nots, not racial), i don't care what happens to everyone else. I pay people peanuts to prep food and then overcharge for cooked food. why would i want the guys working in my kitchen to be as smart as me??? then they would want my pay!

I am not ignorant to your point about kids in the middle being drawn to stupidity. That has been a problem in minority communities forever. It's sad that many kids think it's cool to be dumb. But that's on them. They all end up either dead or in jail.

By the way huu...

i agree with you about Denzel Washington being a great role model. Kids should look up to him. he's a great man, a great performer. he's the only major black actor on the A-list who never sold out his manhood to Hollywood or degraded himself by playing a drag queen or a pop-tart. (Will Smith, Wesley Snipes, Michael Clark-Duncan, Eddie Murphy, and Ving Rahmes all did)
