corvettes and certain GMs are some of the only cars that literally stand out in the streets of Japan, seriously. they are taxed quite high because of importation and some trade barriers but nonethless, they're almost like ferraris in the US. there are special dealers that only sell the corvette.

Why are they only releasing 30 cars? Is it because Japan will not allow any more? Most of my vehicles have been Japanese but America should put the same penalties that Japan does to American Cars. What is Japan worried about? They should play fair.

i don't think that would be the problem. Here in middle East also GM release some special edition cars almost every year. This year they made special edition Middle East only Chevrolet CSV CR8(rebadged Holden HSV, Vauxhaull) which was limited to only 200 units.

the year before Cadillac SLS(Strethed and more luxurious STS) and year before special edition of Corvette...etc

therefore making special edition cars are normal, everyone makes them, mostly the cars which are hard to sell, manufacturer turn them into some special models.

They also burn leaded gas over there so cars made here for them are made to run on leaded gas.

So GM exports a car with a push-rod engine, fiberglass body and a wood sub-floor. And a scroll that says "Corvette" every time it is started. So sad!
