Tell me that you still hate the new 7 Series
Take a look at these photos and please tell me afterward if you still think the new BMW 7 Series "sucks", it's "butt ugly", "looks worse than a Lexus", etc…etc..I have heard all the terms in the past few days.

I have to admit though, the moment I saw the first photos, I was far from impressed. I knew that technologically the car is a state of art, but the exterior just didn't make me scream WOW…this time. But, when new photos started to come out, I started to fall for the new 7, I felt that BMW went into the right direction, combining old with new, while still keeping the BMW spirit alive.

Then today, after I saw ANOTHER photos of the 7, I totally fell in love. The car is amazing, period. And in black exterior, it just screams SEXY.

I can bet any of you right now that the car will be a hit and the sales will be amazing, even at that high base price.

If you disagree, please leave a comment here, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I would love to hear your arguments as well.

I like it, but I think the front is too soft compared to the rest of the car. It doesn't have an even balance. Kinda like the second generation escalade. the front was all square and chiseled but the res of the body was soft and rounded. If the front end was more agressive I think it would be a winner.

The car still looks boring.....It doesn't give that wow factor the old 7-series gave when it was release. This car doesn't even look like a BMW. No excitement. It's too soft and boring. The Japanese can get away with soft and boring because thats what they been doing for decades, now on the other hand, BMW is not allowed. We expect excitement not this bland fugly thing.

I can't tell which one has more excitement, this thing or the 2009 Acura RL.

If they wanted to do boring they could've did it the way Lexus does boring but yet futuristic, which actually makes it not so boring.

Lexus LS and Mercedes S Class is probably laughing at BMW right now. The current S-class is a classic masterpiece. I wanted something like what Mercedes did with the S-Class, but instead we get this.

This 7-series says nothing for the exterior. It's just car. Plane.

This car is just boring boring boring.

I happen to think the car looks really good, but whether I like it or not is irrelevant -- enough is enough. How many threads do we need about the new 7-Series? The car is eight months away still and this is like the sixth thread. There have been like 700+ comments across the threads and it's the same conversation, the same comments in every thread. There's GOT to be something else to report on...

I do have one more thing to say, and it is that I loved the '02 7 that Bangle designed, which is what my dad has.
I keep wondering how the new 7 would have looked without all the criticism. Of course a car focused on handling would be great, but when owning a BMW, who doesn't want their car to look striking and special?

If you like the 7 then you should feel confident about liking it and not care about what other people think. BTW, it looks MUCH better in darker colors - the first official pics of the 7 with that cheesy gold paint and a tan interior couldn't have been any worse. Maybe that's why people confused apsects of it with a Lexus. Anywho - darker colors rock...I'd like to see a less complicated more agressive rim/wheel design. This can't be the only offering?

The new 7 Series isn't meant to stand out as much as an axe murderer covered in blood, thats what the CS Concept/future 8 Series is for. I repeat again, the 7 Series, S-Class, LS aren't meant to stand out like someone wearing a white t-shirt covered in dripping blood, their more cutting-edge models like the SL-Class AMG, CS Concept are meant to attract attention, as 7 Series, S-Class, LS owners are, to be honest, middle aged men who work in an office all day.

A car on the eve of it's introduction shouldn't already appear dated. It's decent looking, but hardly inspiring or fresh. Imagine how tired it'll look in another 3 years. Yikes!

Everybody said this when the E65/E66 7 Series was released, and everybody was like "let's all convert to Lexus or Mercedes". The Lexus LS or Mercedes-Benz S-Class are both extremely good cars, but the 7 Series, and dare I say all BMWs recently, make people skeptical about the design. But this design is supposed to last 8 years so it is supposed to look different so it will last longer. It doesn't look dated at all, it just looks different to the usual. But this was the same when the new 3 Series was released.

And for people who say that this site is being polluted with the new 7 Series info, please drop it, because it was exactly this full with stories and news when the new C-Class, Audi A4 and just about every European do or die model.

I had a 2005 740Li and it was looking quite new, but compared to the LS or S-Class it looked out dated, that why I bought an S500 AMG. But I'm definitely getting the new 7 Series and swapping my S-Class.

Relative to the old 7 this car is beautiful. I cannot imagine a single current 7 series owner that would not want to trade in for this. BMW will increase sales from those BMW 7 owners that skipped that old 7 model. If they had never released that abomination then we all would not be so insecure about the current 7’s new look.

"Tell me that you still hate the new 7 Series..."

I still hate the new 7 series.... I guess once we hit 15 articles on the new 7 series in 5 days... someone should say it.. It is blatantly obvious the Autospies, is severely bias twords the BMW brand.. not only praising it at every turn, but posting a ton of repeat articles..

And the "Spies Land Exclusive First Real Life Photos Of The New BMW 7-Series" was an autospies exclusive for maybe an hour, Why is that post at the top of the page for the past three days? Every single other car fan website had those pictures within minutes of autospies, so hanging on to an exclusive photos thread for a week, is a little childish...

With regards to this average looking, beefed up 5 series mixed with a little Asian styling... We have all seen the pictures, we don't care to rear ten more articles about the damn car so you car get your BMW article quota...

Try making the articles DIFFERENT, that's the point of a car enthusiasts website.

I never said I hated it. Hate is too strong of a word. I just don't care for it one way or the other, mostly due to its conservative "been there, done that" styling. The performance numbers are there, the tech inside is through the roof which I like a lot and I'm sure it'll have all the characteristics a BMW usually has. But if I had a choice between the 7, an S-Class or an LS, the 7 series wouldn't be my 1st choice. And possibly not my 2nd choice either.

BMW was clearly inspired by E32 1988-1994 7 series. This was model that was true luxury alternative to MB S Class. This MB S was model original Lexus LS was derived from. Present LS "inspired" by BMW E32. Toyota probably has many samples of MB, BMW, Jaguar, etc. models in storage. Remember Road & Track article about first LS. Toyota engineers, designers, mechanics said they practically disected MB S-class.
