BMW goes back its roots on the M5

Caving in to pressure from enthusiasts, BMW WILL be offering a manual transmission option on the new M5.

Original plans only called for an SMG style transmission.

If Audi decided to put a manual in an RS6, Buster would be singing his praises.

Since its BMW, Buster acts like a child.

I personally think BMW is smart for knowing how to please M buyers.

Listening to customer's opinions : Moronic??? Arrogant???

Please explain those two comments

Hey folks, let's be honest here *except 001Buster...BMW has awesome heritage and I respect this company for "trying something new and innovative". Now, if BMW obviously does excellent homework and listens to other ppl's opinion *except 001buster and decided that MS should be reinstated and so be it. Still lots of kudos and also btw Audi's paddle shifting thingy is quicker and betterthan BMW's SMG as far as I know it anyhow..and BMW knows its beaten. I'm not sure if what i said was 100% correct but that's my understanding and in my opinion we all need to give kudo's to BMW folks except 001buster you are always an exception.

In J.D. Power's 2004 ranking of initial quality, Audi moved up three places to rank 11th out of 37 auto brands, one place above BMW and one notch below Mercedes.<---2005 result is what I like to see here..but in the past few years..initial quality weren't impressive and am an skeptical thus far..but we'll see.

One of the most keenly awaited products is the Q7 SUV, costing roughly $40,000 and competing with Mercedes' M Class and BMW's X5.<---This is a cheesy statement..b/c Q7/Q5 is an hybrid SUV and M Class and X5 isn't..does this not make any sense to you? Rather wouldn't it be a better comparison between: Lexus RX400h, Q7, Porche's hybrid Caynnee and maybe even Ford Escape Hybrid SUV, Highland hybrid etc....

A recent report by Morgan Stanley (MWD ) puts Audi's value at $14 billion -- 80% of VW Group.<---Toyota's single year profit is $16 billion in comparison.

Now, Audi's growth and profits are increasingly vital to Volkswagen, where high costs and missteps with key models like the Golf and Phaeton have clouded prospects. <----How could they not mention W-8 engine? Too much isn't always a good thing in this case!

The A4 line accounts for nearly half of all Audi sales.<---BMW's 3 series accounts for nearly half of all BMW's profit also.

In Japan, where Audi trails BMW and Mercedes, <---Motorolla Mobile cell ph. compay tried to sell there phones in Japanese market..not a good idea!

That's why Audi is 22nd in Power's 2004 ranking of long-term dependability. The good news for Audi is that Mercedes sank to 28th in the same year. Audi's dependability ratings should trend upward thanks to the quality of the new models hitting the market.<---This is the meat and potatos of staying in business. 22nd is HORRIBLE AND 28TH IS HORRIBLE.

You cut and pasted this article of yours..and it seems to me that you haven't even read it! Damn son...look more carefully next time before you call me all these silly names before I smack you upside your head.

The wholesale parts-sharing of the early 1990s between Audi and VW has given way to a more sophisticated sharing of modules that still saves money but allows Audi cars to look and behave differently. And VW's plummeting profits have dashed Piëch's ill-fated drive to push Volkswagen upmarket. VW Chief Executive Bernd Pischetsrieder is scrambling to refocus the company's efforts on affordable small cars like the soon-to-launch subcompact Fox. A recent report by Morgan Stanley (MWD ) puts Audi's value at $14 billion -- 80% of VW Group. <---Right here dumbass!

Next time I suggest that you read your post before you post them to save you from this type of embarrasement..What an idiot!
