Next On Tap From Mercedes, A 'Baby' CLS Called The CLA?
Dear 001, A buddy of mine just emailed me this photo of a totally new Mercedes-Benz, that is supposedly coming, called the CLA. Looks like an affordable CLS 4-Door coupe and it says it will base price around $25,000 Euro. Sounds like a cool idea!

Interesting as it now appears that Mercedes is mimicking styling cues from entry-level FORD products... Ford Verge Sedan Anyone?

Considering it is only an illustration, I would not put much stock in your statement. Wait for a real photo...who knows where that illustration was originated.

Beautiful idea...since no Ford is remotely good looking, it isn't taking cues from them! :D I'd be really interested in this car

If MB decides to create a car like that, BMW and Audi will follow them....and there is big market for it.

i agree i think there would be a big market for a car like this, an entry level car with 4 door coupe styling and reasonable gas mileage

Don't know about BMW, but Audi's definitely thinking along these lines with its new A5 Sportback concept - as is VW with its CC, of course. Though the above photoshop cannot be taken seriously, the idea of a quality C-class based 4-dr coupe sexier than sedans, more practical (and let's hope more appealing) than CLKs, less bulky than the Es and yet half the price of the CLS would definitely get my attention! I'll have mine with a 6 cylinder turbodiesel, please....

Benz is a class act, whatever they do always works. So lets wait and see boys.

The R-Class might have been a poor seller in the US, but in Europe and elsewhere it is quite popular. In fact there's a demand for the R-Class that it's getting a facelift soon.

This sketch is not so great but if they can make it as beautiful as the CLS then it would be on my shopping list.

THIS ALMOST LOOKS LIKE A MB VERSION OF THE BMW X6 TO ME...I'M NOT A FAN OF THE SHAPE, BUT I'M SURE SOMEONE WILL BUY IT FOR THE BADGE.

Not sure why you would make a smaller CLS, it's already pretty small (it is a 4 seater) - at least for the American market
