Are the GM employees to to blame for the companies troubles

With all the bad news surrounding GM these days one wonders who really is to blame?

Is it the execs being out of touch and incompetent or is it lazy employees with a poor work ethic?

The other question we want answered is who on earth would want to work for them?

First rumors of pension plans flying out the window and now EVERYONE can buy at employee prices!

Is there ANY benefit anymore to being a GM employee?

We would LOVE to open the debate on this issue...

You couldn't pay me to drive a GM product. Although, it's good to see Cadillac making strides.

IMO, there's enough blame to go all around.
1. Mediocre products. The steaks rarely live up to the marketing sizzle.
2. Peculiar school of design. Come on. The Aztec/Avalanche/Malibu Maxx/Monte Carlo et al. are just butt ugly.
3. Management doesn't have a clue. Car guys? What car guys? Let's just keep shoving more units, with more rebates, and maybe people will buy them if they appear cheap enough.
4. Too many brands. Four-five flavors of the same swill is just three-four too many.
5. Biggest for too long. They have been coasting on their collective fat for way too long. There is no lean-n-mean spirit within GM

It's management and Union to blame.

Management: Approves poor designed products to sell to customers.

Union: Sometimes too greedy.

Unions are the down fall of this country. How could anyone get paid $25-$30 + an hour including full benenfits to put a little screw in a car frame???
Do away with the Unions and things would get MUCH ,MUCH better.
Unions are bloodsuckers and they'll suck us out dry at any expense b/c they only care about themselves not G.M.
