Maserati 'Spyder' based Ferrari Califonia

Prototypes for Maserati’s next model, a new coupe-cabrio based on the same platform as the Ferrari California, were first seen testing more than a year ago but soon disappeared once engineers started focusing on completing the car with the Prancing Horse badge.

New spy photos reveal the Maserati version is back in testing, though from outward appearances it still has considerable work ahead of it.

Looking much like the California did during testing, the Maserati bears a large and awkward-looking camouflage unit covering the rear of the car.

Probably going to be overpriced, but still a beautiful car!

It's not overpriced. The Maserati name was in racing since as far as I remember so in that regard it has a lot of history. As for resale their cars haven't been great at all. If it looks any where close to a Gran Turismo it will be a hot commodity. I've liked how the Quattroporte & the GT sounded but looks have been subjective to me. Maybe this "Spyder" will look better.

Maseratis, in my eye offers a great price point for a european exotic. Yes its no Lambo, Zonda or any super car but with MB and BMW hitting the 120k mark, this is a great option!!!
