Honda fixes design flaw on Accord

Honda does not sell these cars b/c of low price and good quality compariable to other cars as some idiot has stated in here i.e. 001bastard. Its main reason is high resale value, excellent quality, excellent customer services, excellent marketing strategy, hybrid tech.offering *w/waiting lists, 17 years voted on the list of Top 10 best cars list out of 23 years of existance!, safety and excellent ergonomics etc..Also beside having highest customer satifaction and royal customers; little design change is a no big frill. Also like to mention that these are not a brand cars instead they are considered as a very main stream and respected vehicles that only Honda was able to build to dominate in the U.S. Market and soon European Market as well, only a matter of time before it too will be saturated but I think Hyundai is also coming up very, very strong lately and perhaps shorten the gap a bit and finally have some competition. At this time however Honda is the leader and rest are the emulators.

Honda’s original hybrid power unit and Honda’s first ever diesel engine pick up awards/jun05

2005 sees the 1.0 liter Insight IMA engine and the 2.2 i-CTDi win their respective size categories.
UNITED KINGDOM, June 1, 2005 - The 1.0 liter Insight IMA engine and the 2.2 i-CTDi won their respective size categories in the International Engine of the Year Awards 2005, presented by UKIP Media and Events Automotive Magazines. This is the 10th award for the 1.0 liter Insight IMA engine, which continues to make it the most successful engine since the awards started seven years ago. Judges give this engine the utmost praise with quotes like “Still the one they have to catch in the economy stakes.” Its clean sweep of the sub 1-liter category for "six straight years" in itself is a testament to the superior efficiency of this hybrid powertrain.


For the first time, the Honda diesel engine, 2.2 i-CTDi (found in the Accord saloon and Tourer, the CR-V and now the FR-V) has won its category award, 2.0 – 2.5 liter. The engine, which is the first ever Honda diesel, is recognized as being one of the most all round fuel efficient and silent diesel engines found on the market today. “Power, economy, sound – everything puts this diesel at the top of four-cylinder engines” are some words that the International Jury have used in describing this engine.

Honda is once again recognized as being amongst the best engine manufacturers in the world, winning "21 out of 84 possible awards in the seven year history" of this annual ceremony. The judges are made up of 56 leading motoring journalists from 26 different countries. Engines are awarded points based on their characteristics of fuel economy, noise, smoothness, performance and driveability.

Some thoughts:

1.) This year is the first one since its introduction, that the 2.0L engine of the S2000 does not win the award in the 1.8 - 2.0L class. In fact, it is the runner up, with only 11 points less than the VW engine. The 2.0 i-VTEC engine from the Civic TypeR also made it to top charts. The thing is that if you look to the 2.0 - 2.5L class, you will also find the 2.2L S2000. But the 2.2L engine is only available in North America, while the 2.0L is no longer available in North America since the 2004 model update. I believe that if the US S2000 was still a 2.0L, that engine would have won the contest again. The Civic Type R is only available in Europe and Japan (Japan only has 1 judge), and so on.

2) You may wonder why the 3L V6 of the Accord Hybrid is not at the top of the list, or why the 3.0 VCM of the Inspire in Japan has never been there (not even mentioned actually). The Accord IMA is only available in North America, and the Inspire never made it outside Japan. The same applies to the 3.3L Toyota Hybrid... I'm sure that the Toyota will gain some spot

Still SUX

Sales figures do not make a great car.

The Camry is a life-less blob of nothingness, and the Accord has it licked on style and dynamics.
