Really, so the turbocharged Cobalt SS (which holds the FWD Ring record doesn't compete)? The top end Corsa holds the time in it's class. The CTS-V holds the Sedan title. The Z06 had the under $100K title for how many years? The GT500 Mustang will likely put the hurt on a number of competitors. Seriously how does America not compete.

Japan on the other hand has how many models that are the fastest for their class? Japanese brands may make reliable (Toyota)/economic (Honda) cars but save for Nissan nobody has a sport heritage on any of its models. The Supra/NSX have been dead for a while and quite frankly their other models don't stand a chance against other offerings on the ring.

So you have 1 car top of it's class for sure and what else? Compared to GM and Ford which has 5 super competitors in their specific classes.

In case you have been living under a rock for the last year or so, Toyota's coming out with a Celica and a Supra successor, aka Subaru-Toyota RWD compact sports coupe and production FT-HS. And those are in addition to the LF-A and LF-A roadster.

A Celica or a Supra successor? They aren't the same car and they hit different markets. Also the Subbie-Toyota car will be a hell of a lot more Subbie than Toyota.

The LF-A and LF-A roadster are about the only things that make the Camaro's gestation seem normal. And those are luxury coupes (like the SC300/SC430/SC400) not sports cars.

SCs can do the Nurburgring in 7:24? I had no idea! Sarcasm aside, the LF-A can lap the Nurburgring in 7:24 and is going to be a luxury sports car in contrary to what you say.

Maybe I'm retarded but I think that every country has good performance cars. Sure, some are better than others, but to say an entire country that has a few different brands. Only an idiot would say that the Vette or Mustang aren't good, fun, fast cars just like you can't say Japan hasn't had good ones w/ the NSX and Skyline.
