Even though we are very fortunate and get to travel to exotic places to see and drive the world's finest vehicles, sometimes it's easy to get a jaded perspective and lose your excitement over the new models.

But certain automobiles can still get the juices flowing and excite us more than others.

One of those, is also one of the most anticipated upcoming cars, the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-class.

Gosh - I hope those bulges above the wheel wells are part of the camouflage because they look rather hideous. The Maybach/Michael Moore sized rear end isn't very easy on the eyes either!

We don't need the blind loyalty of an obvious MB cheerleader here, either.

If you can't take a little criticism on your favorite car, stay out of the forums altogether. If you want to participate, then be prepared to hear some things that you won't like. But here's a big clue for you... nobody is "taking their bs" elsewhere just because you don't like what they say. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you don't make the rules here.

Ever since most car makers have begun redesigns in the last few years, I have re-arranged my preferences in design. First, BMW ahead of Merc, now Audi too. Besides the current E-Class, I can't understand MB's new design sense. Why does this car have harsh lines marking the flares of the wheel wells?! Don't get me wrong, for I like the strong line/smooth curve design scheme, and BMW knows how to use it right: strong lines where lines are straight (sides of doors, hood and trunk, bumper edges, etc), not where curves exist. MB made the same mistake on their new ML SUV - the same harsh lines bordering perhaps the curviest parts of cars, the wheel well. Makes it look like a Nissan or other Asian SUV.

It may be "derivative" of the Maybach on the new S-Class, but the "trunk extends well beyond the fender" styling approach was made infamous by the 7-Series, and will now always be a "bangle butt" to me.
