Chevy Cruze and Cadillac CTS Coupe being looked at as GM’s saviors

While GM is trying to come up with $15 billion dollars to increase its liquidity, it has no plans to stop introducing new models in segments where it matters. Of the seven new models planned, the Chevrolet Cruze and the Cadillac CTS variants are being seen as the most important.

The seven models include the upcoming Cadillac CTS coupe and wagon, Cadillac SRX, Buick Invicta, Saab 9-4X, the redesigned Chevrolet Equinox and the global-compact Chevrolet Cruze. And while the Buick Invicta may be a beautiful looking sedan and the SRX and 9-4X will be much anticipated compact SUVs, the Cruze and the CTS coupe are seen as the saviors of this group.

No offense to Chevy but I feel that the Cruze and perhaps other models would look sooo much better without the Chevrolet emblem on the front. It kinda takes away some of the class (if any). Perhaps reducing the size of it would help also. I know that once Audi increased the size of the rings (which don't look that bad) everyone else decided to do the same, but it doesn't really work in Chevy's case.

I suppose BMW should change their emblem to red and silver, or Ford get rid of the blue oval for a green one? Chevrolet's color is gold, and I dont think it's tacky or out of place at all. It just is what it is.

Hold on a second, consumer perception has a lot to do with things. Lots of times, Chevy is associated with trucks and bigger, no-nonsense cars with muscle. If a Saturn badge were there instead of a Chevy, it would be more appealing to import-minded buyers (people who swore off domestics years ago). GTR35 may have a point, perception more times than not is what sells vehicles.

Seriously, is a Camry/Accord that much better than a Malibu/Fusion? Answer is no, but Americans think that Japanese is always better.
