New Alfa Romeo 169

New Alfa Romeo 169
Alfa Romeo has previously shown some plans for the development of a new 166 which will be known as the 169.

The new model is set to debut in 2009 and will share the current 159 / Brera platform. Currently, there is no evidence to support a change to RWD, an inline 4-cylinder and a premium V6 variant is expected to power the current FWD design, and also a new AWD setup is in the works. Full details are still yet to be confirmed, but rumours say that it’s possible a V8 supplied from Ferrari will support a hardcore performance variant.

A new V8 powered FWD much like the Lancia Thema 8.32V?

Well if that concept doesn't look almost exactly like the Genesis Coupe....it's still good looking though, only Hyundai got it right with the RWD platform.

No, Alfa got it right by being an Alfa.

And by possibly having a Ferrari V8 inside.

...I may faint.

I see it as a compact Italian Rolls Royce.

i think using a version of the quottroporte platform would have been a good idea, FWD V8?, they should have made this car rear wheel drive

If the V8 makes it into the line up you can bet it will be the AWD version. There would be so much torgue steer in a FWD version that the car would probably not be drivable.A Ferrari V8 would have over 400 HP. You cannot put that into FWD safely.

the article clearly states that it would be a FWD V8 but yeah ok.....
