Yes , boring and bland - what we used to expect from Volkswagen . But you`re right , it looks fine compared to passat or like jeremy clarkson said "the most boring car in history" - jetta .

Well exterior and interior cues are from the newly released Scirroco. But here what I still do not understand. The Scirroco is actually priced lower in Europe then the GTI. The cost of making the car is less then the Eos yet VW still won't import it.Yes the currency issues.I say "Bull".VW Of America is simply protecting the the GTI sales. The Scirroco,imported here would walk over GTI sales. So now VW simply makes a more conservative upright looking Scirroco. I say import the "real" Scirroco but call it a GTI in the states. You could do it as the GTI and R32. IF you need sports 4d then leave that to the Jetta GLI.

The 200 horsepower Scirocco starts @ 25,550 Euro. The GTI (200 horsepower) starts at less than that. but I can't find the exact price right now.

There is nothing exciting about this car.

Interior looks nice though.

The current Rabbit is built just as well as the Corolla, check it out on the web. I own one and have had no issues in about 30K miles. Toyota is not an infallible brand itself. I know, my friend's mother has an '07 Camry V6 and it has been a piece of crap. at 2K miles the transmission failed. then at 5K the paint was already fading on the trunklid and some on the roof. She was astonished since the Camry is supposed to be good.... But it hasn't been so far. She will be trading in the near future she says.

No other magazine has had a compro of all these vehicles but this mag I believe. At least from what I researched.

The Jetta and/or Rabbit may be boring as if that should be a disqualifier for a daily commute , however, I drove a much more boring and cheap built Civic and Corolla before deciding on a 2006 , 47-mpg, superior low-end torque, Jetta TDI. Boring--yes. I guess. Practical, reliable, solidly built, roomy, alternative fuel capable, and fuel efficient--definitely!

If one buys a car for image building, it's his or her money wasted, but my money goes to a car that's efficient, safe, practical, and reliable. If that's the definition of boring, then my Jetta is absolutely boring.
