People bitched and complained about iDrive and its horrible
interface.
Now MB makes it worse. Way worse !!!!!!!
Not a single button in sight. I see some very small switches.
What? Not even temp and radio functions.
All the critics of the "7" take note.
This car better get slammed for this.
BMW was ahead of the curve. iDrive is better than this..
MB really messed up this time. BIG TIME.

BTW- The Steering wheel and dash hump are horribly designed.

The photograph is fine, but the subject is anything but. Sadly, I see that the "love handles" weren't part of the test mule's disguise but actually made it to the final design. And what's with the ungainly misshapen cowl over the instruments? It has all the grace and sleekness of a bactrian camel.

It seems that all of the German design houses have seriously lost their way. We have the Banglized BMWs, the gaping bottom-feeder grilles on the Audis, and now Mercedes presents Tokyo by way of Stuttgart. A sad state of affairs.

This car is straight ugly. The interior is laughable.

I like the pic of the burgunday car. I think that this car will look very good for a long time like the current car. I am personally really troubled by the iDriving of the interior. Am I the only person that was never bothereb by buttons in my interior? The double hump dashboard is even uglier in the S than it is in the 7. I think Audi got it right with the pop out screen. With all that said I think they are gonna sell as many as they can build. This MB instantly aged the 745's and 750's.

After the surprisingly strong design of the new CLS, I would have expected the bold design approach to make it to the new S.

No such luck. Those flat and tall wheel arches belong on an SUV. The head and tail-lights are both outdated and belong on a Japanese econo-car.

And yes, the inside is a complete copy of the BMW 7 series, with the top portion of the Audi A6 instrument hood thrown in for good measure.

This is a dreadful, clumsy, unoriginal, low-grade design.

Not impressed.

I'll still take the Audi A8 any day.

This is really a missed opportunity by Mercedes to stay ahead of the game. The design is too evolutionary: the boot lid and chrome strip at the rear are 7 series like ( not good! ).
The interior has BMW parts in it! I'm almost sure the part numbers match. How sad that after 5 years of looking at the 7 they came up with a poor copy.
There is a lack of coherence is this car which might well rob it its supremacy and this even though it may be a great drive.

To me the closeup head lights looks more like the Nissan Altima's.
Again I like the design on the outside but not the interior.

Beautiful vehicle, nice lines, not quite as conservative as MB usually is, but its sharp and it looks fresh, interior is nice, layout may be kind of "iffy" but overall it looks great.

Everyone who is bitching about the "iDrive" deal.. It's not a bad thing, Audi may have executed it better w/ there MMI interface, but regardless, with the two other major German competitors using a system, MB had to do something to compete with it..

I don't know why everyone is so confused about it, it just takes a little practice to learn it, perhaps if you can't type or turn the computer on you shouldn't purchase a car w/ that system..

Anywho, if these are the real pics, it looks a lot better.. bolder styling is what people are after now, it's certainly not as edgy as a 7 series but it has a good flow..

The rear slopes gently with a grace also. The car has clean look and very modest in style saying "I'm a luxury car"! I especially like the front air scoop design (blue colored pic).

Interior of the car is nice too. The reason for 2nd hump which looks kinda odd is to shade LCD display from the sunlight obviously and its fine. The NEW idrive is much improved and simpler to operate also.

Thing is its an S class. It'll usually sell like mad. The S and SL are those rare cars that when the new one comes out, some of the loyal owners have to have them no matter what the cost.

When did Bangle start at MB?

People keep critisizing how the BMW idrive system suck now all the car manufacture are trying to do the same. In fact i have pics of the new S class the interior look exacly like the bmw execpt the bmw looks nice. S classs sucks. BMW lives on.
