It shouldn't matter what type of picture or color to make a car look beautiful. IMO the G is bland and I would definetly take the 09 TL over it. They say Acura has not torque but the TL 275 LBS of torque outdues the G although I am aware that the weight will neglect that.

The G may be bland but it's certainly not FUGLY like the 09 TL. The G37 may have 5 less lb-ft of torque than the 09 TL but it has 23 more hp than the 09 TL.

- fit and finish is way inferior to the one in my VW R32.
-the engine sounds awful under acceleration and it feels extremely anemic under 5000 RPM.
-the manual transmission is extremely notchy and the clutch will build huge muscles to your left leg in no time, one of the worst I've tried
-the interior is cramped and all three brand new G37s I drove had rattles.
-the car corners like a school bus and the overall feeling is that you drive an SUV
-the brakes are extremely noisy and the feel is terrible.
-the engine has excessive vibrations at idle and under mild or hard acceleration and the sound coming from the exhaust is too similar to a vacuum cleaner.

This is by no means a premium car and if would not be for the features it comes standard with(which belong to the premium segment), nothing else would indicate that you drive anything else than something belonging to the economy segment.

Why don't you describe your test drives with the G37? Ah, that's right you never drove one.

You need to get out more and get to drive a real car(German) for a change. Compared with your Chevy Metro I'm sure the G37 felt like a slightly better car but for the car guys the G37 is nothing but a pile of s**t.

That thing is about as silky smooth as a grizzly's rear end. The 3.7, like the 3.5 before it, has some serious vibration and harshness going on. Funny how nissan tries to throw all the technology they can into their v6, but seem clueless when it comes to NVH control.

I'm new to this site and my two sons have been telling me about it since we all three love cars, but characters like this person that calls himself or herself Staar ruins it for all of us. I don't like the language he uses on here. Is there some way to get in touch with the person or people that run this site and report him? I know that it is hard to control cyberspace, but I would think this is sort of a family oriented site and should be moderated a little better.

I'm sorry if I thought you were the same person as Staar. I'm new to this site. My two sons were telling me to check it out for the latest car info and I began reading all of the comments and was shocked that someone would call another individual a failed abortion or a neo-nazi. I apologize to you Star, it appears this other person has no morals or values. I sincerely hope whoever is in charge of this site cleans up some of this foul language and name calling.

there are two opposite groups on this site. One is formed by enthusiasts and the other by Japanese car fanatics that have the typical attitude you would find on some of the Honda Civic forums(V-tech for the win) on the Internet. As you see "STJ88" belongs in the second group together with "Staar". There is really not much difference between the two other than the language they choose to use.

Good luck to you in trying to remain objective. The rate of failure for whoever tried was 100%. With people like "Staar" and "STJ88" lurking around I'm afraid that objectivity would remain an untouchable dream on these forums.

Well, I must say this could be a good site if it were not for all the name calling and bashing. I think I will tell my sons to just read the articles and skip all of the comments. I can't control what they read but at least I can give them my take on the matter.

I've been reading the various threads and have formed somewhat of an opinion on my own. I went back and checked the dates that some members like yourself and Staar's earliest publications were and it seems that he joined later than you and just added an extra a to the middle of his name. Seems to be more than one incident of that with many members on here. This Staar character really has a foul mouth or should I say keyboard. I understand why you get so upset with his postings. I think I will just read the articles from this point forward it is apparent that this site has no moderators or control of the site. My sons will just have realize that this world is full of good and bad. It would be nice if the moderator if there is one would kick the potty mouths off.

As far as I know, you CANNOT stop the internet. What's the point of kicking people off when then can within minutes create another profile and sign back in? If you think this kind of talk is offensive, I'd suggest you stop browsing the net right now, cause there are far worse out there.

Accordingly, it is up to you as a parent to monitor you kids for the content they are exposed to; but this does not mean nagging the site owners with your ban this or ban that attitude. The internet doesn't turn off, but you can turn your computer off, it's that simple. Everyone's biased here (maybe some more than others) so this kind of rivalry is to be expected.

Now if that's not the ultimate trolling machine at work, I don't know what is. As for me I don't take anything he says seriously, since he is just a teenager who's just learning how to drive, probably ditched his "BMX" bike recently when he picked up a used VW Golf.

Guys like myself and others who criticize German brands especially BMW wouldn't exist it there weren't so many BMW zealots out there spouting the virtues of this make in one form or another, claiming anything without a roundel at the front is automatically inferior. I've driven many BMWs, from family, aunts, uncles, friends etc. and don't see what all the fuss is about.

I tend to like Japanese brands because they offer just as much performance as German brands and yet offer ease of ownership, and is usually more bang for your buck, and is more reliable. This doesn't mean I don't have respect for German brands, especially MB, after all, they pretty much invented the automobile with the Motorwagen in 1885.

I'm sure others, myself included, don't want to go down this juvenile shouting match path, it can't be avoided as long a s German fanboys are rampant on the net. As the famous line goes:

I really want to like this car, but I don't understand Nissan marketing strategy. I love the power train in this car, but its styling lags it's simply gorgeous sibling the new Maxima. The Maxima is just stunning to look at, while looking at G's styling has about as much romance as a PBS fund drive.

On a similar topic Nissan does have a huge problem with far to much family resemblance between the Nissan and Infiniti lines.

Agree. I was in traffic and saw a Nissan Altima sedan and a Infiniti M and G sedans behind one another. Profiles look too similar. Understand Ghosen saves costs by using same chasis, same interior layout, etc.

The entire BMW lineup is based on the 3series platform, do you hear people complaining?

for one that is a stupid comment....the entire BMW lineup is not based on the 3 series....2nd...the 3 series is a premium car it is not the same basing an ENTIRE lineup of Supposedly premium cars on a economy sports car that starts at 26 grand. Or sharing engines across the lineup with the Nissan Altima except the 3.7 liter which is still based on the 3.5 and not an entirely new engine. Not to mention the fx, ex, g35, maxima, and murano all have the same dash......

Do you BMW is going disclose any platform sharing info? it's a family run business for crying out loud, they don't divulge that kind of information. In this Global economy, all manufacturers have to do this to cut costs and leverage profits, BMW is no exception. You have to also realize that auto manufactures now practically use the same parts suppliers, no nothing is "in-house" even for BMW, MB. BMW also announced that it will undergo platform sharing with Fiat Group (initially for Mini models and Alfa Romeo models, but soon I'm sure will trickle over to BMW 1/3 series as well), will you get upset at this as well? What about the fact that GM has supplied automatic transmissions to BMW since 1991 made in Strasbourg.

Don't know about you but nearly all BMW interiors look the same to me as well, at least for Infiniti this is not a problem since their interiors are not bland and sleep inducing.

Infinti's lineup is the same?? BMW's are more! Compare an interior, let's say 4 years old with the same wear and tear for both car, by that I mean a BMW 3 series and an Infiniti G3##, and let's see which one has held up the best..

I know because I have seen them. I've owned 4 different 3 series over the last 10 years and know for a fact that they have much more substance and quality than any Infiniti model.

How can you compare wear and tear between BMW and Infiniti, BMW doesn't have any buttons to press!

Cannot agree w/ you 'QuantumMatrix'. I owned both 3 series and G for about 4 years now.

3 has more rattle and I already replaced stereo and window regulators, thankfully on dealers cost. That said, I replaced CD player on G a while ago too.

Yes the window thing is an ongoing issue with BMW. I am not rough on my interior so my G holds up very well. The quality of the leather in the 3 is better but the G looks better. Because I care of my cars, my interior typically stay looking brand new even years later. I recall my old 93 J30's interior was in excellent condition minus a little wear under the window area. BMW's ornge display also has a tendency to fade in areas and lose pixels or whatever. The Bose radio in infiniti's suck! They are no where near reliable. I did have to have that replaced in my 07 G twice. And the speakers were not that great. The standard Nissan system found in the maxima is much better than the Bose system in the infiniti.

Looks pretty good and the changes are nice!! The sedan is an awesome car, but the coupe is just hot. It looks and drives awesome and have to say in my opinion that it is the best coupe on the road in its class!

Agreed but the 3 coupe is kinda hot too.

Still waiting for the G25. No one would care if gas prices were $2/gal, but we won't see that price again. Maybe not even $3.50/gal.

Interiors are pretty dull.

Not sure why I keep visiting Autospies. It's a bitchy soap-opera blog with viral marketing auto discussions. This blog has not provided me any value except some highly biased and counter-attacks to the Lexus/Infiniti fanboys who visit. Not sure why I'm posting tonight, but the Olympics has been giving me a boner and there is no better place than Autospies to dick-fight with someone else.

The guy who is comparing a G to a TL....drive a G then you will know...too dumb to pick a TL..with that coffin styling btw....
