There is no doubt that Hyundai became a fierce competitor for the Japanese car manufacturers. They better watch out.

Yeah, and the Japanese are fixated on the Germans. Problem is that they're not winning many converts. They need to focus on those in their own backyard (Koreans and Chinese).

I personally sat in the Genesis and yea it is nice for a Hyundai but is nowhere near the quality as Benz BMW Infiniti Lexus and Audi...the grill in person looks like the underbelly of a stingray and the dashbored looks cheesy...this car is nothing but a luxury ecobox...no one that is use to luxuary is going to buy this

Let me get this straight. You think Genesis doesn't belong in the entry level luxury(something I agree with) but believe that Infiniti belongs there? Let's get real. The other brands you listed(other than Hyundai) don't belong together.
You have tier 1 Mercedes and BMW, tier 2 Audi and Lexus and tier 3 Infiniti and Hyundai(only with Genesis). Let's try to be objective.

By the way what I listed as tier 3 is not luxury.

350zdon17,
I remind you that we are talking about cars. Why do you have to act like a douche and resort to name calling? You disagree with me? That's fine. No problem, you are free to insert your own version of reality. Just stop acting like an a** and give an explanation without ading an insult to your message.
And don't tell me that something I said triggered your reaction because that explanation cannot be valid
once you are out of the elementary school. I didn't insult you, I expect the same from you.
Why is it that ALL the German car fans on this site manage to remain civilized while ALL the Japanese car fans with the exception of Htay7500 are always using insults instead of arguments. Is it because there are NO arguments in your favor? I assume that is the answer.

"I know you dont like Infiniti but stop hating on the brand "
Why would I hate a car brand? That is an absolutely insane accusation. Infiniti is just a car brand and I don't have ABSOLUTELY any reason to hate it. The G37 was on my shopping list after reading some of the reviews in American car mags and I was ready to actually buy one. After I drove the car I realised that everything I read in those mags was utter c**p. The car is nowhere near any product coming from Germany including VW and is definitely not a BMW competitor(that is an insane claim). It is a poorly built, under-engineered car with a heavy nose and absolutely not a hint of refinement (a requirement for any car belonging to the premium segment).
I am not a fan of Lexus IS either but I cannot ignore the fact that Lexus HAS good build quality and the level of refinement is high enough to grant this brand a place in the premium segment.
Infiniti is just not there yet, but I certainly hope that they will get there someday.

Well I will be a man and apologize for that, but you really need to stop being a one track minded person in your car comments. All you do is bash everything that is not german. It really doesn't mean anything because I know your comments aren't converting people to buy german cars only. When it comes to comments your just as bad as MichaelTalyor who turns every post into a Lexus is great post.

I am not bashing Japanese brands. I give credit where credit is due. I'm sorry, I really cannot put brands like Mercedes or BMW next to a brand like Infiti. It is not because I have a problem with Infiniti, is just the fact that I cannot put excellence and mediocrity at the same level. Sure, Infiniti doesn't make the worst cars in the world but putting them next to car makers that really strive for perfection is offensive to me as a person. I have the same values when it comes to everything. I make sure to appreciate the finest things and to separate them from the average ones.
Like I said before I buy a new car every few months so I'm the furthest thing from a fanboi. One of the cars I own right now is Japanese for God's sake. I owned 2 generation Preludes, an STI, a Mazda RX8 and now I own a Honda S2000. It might come as a shock for some here but I certainly don't have a problem with buying a Japanese car. I still think Infiniti sucks though.

350zdon17 - my opinion about hyundai genesis : What`s a point in getting a car that is agglutination of parts from their competitors , doesn`t offer something better or some new technology or what ever new or unigue styling , what`s more it`s even looking like their competitors ( e.g. inside like infinity , backlight like bmw , grill like mercedes and more ) . First lexus ls400 was at least upgraded , more relible version of mercedes s class , genesis isn`t even upgraded version of cars that it copies , so it`s like buying this chinese copy of fiat panda or whatever chinese copy . It`s simply a stealing from hyundai when they do the same as competitors even not upgraded only 5 years later . I think in near future chinese will also do quite good copy of some premium brand car .

I'm sorry but what part of ONE of my cars you didn't understand. As I said before I own a BMW 335i, a VW R32 and a Honda S2000. I also have a C63 AMG on order as replacement for the 335i. I owned several BMW M and Mercedes AMG cars so any type of Infiniti is hardly a financial challenge for me. Thanks for proving me again that having a normal discussion is an impossible dream here. I will resume to start using again short, spicy remarks so EVERYBODY can comprehend the message. I just made a point in showing that discussions about cars are not the reason some of the people signed up here.

Remember Star, your definition of the tiers is not everyone else's. Please don't reply by calling me or anyone names as you usually do, or say that everyone that does not agree with you is not in touch with reality. You do not have a monopoly on being right or the most informed.
I, for one, do not believe that MB and BMW are in a class of their own. They have faults just like other manufacturers.

I'm not YOU buddy. I don't insult people because they have a different opinion than me. That's what YOU do.
With that said it is your right to believe whatever you want. I know what you believe is wrong but I'm not going to insult you just because I don't agree with your believes. I respect the right to an opinion. I suggest you to learn to do the same.

You have insulted me and many others here on many occasions. You have a right to an opinion but they to say then that my opinion is wrong is just hypocritical and illogical. But then that's what I've come to expect from you. Illogical thinking.

I wasn't insulting you, I was merely stating fact. You contradict youself here frequently and make erroneous hypocritical statements. Clearly illogical. I have proven you wrong several times. So logically, moving forward I can expect the same thing, more illogical statements. You have set a pattern and I am merely uncovering that pattern. Besides, I don't need to insult you as many others do it here anyways.

My opinion is Hyundai has improved and is not easy to believe in a brand, but BMW for me they are a great brand but one thing I dont Like is the same Classic look of the front headlights and grill, and interior, I love Lexus Sedans but the SC 430 convertible is the worse looking lexus ever because and the SUV I dont like them so much, but Hyundai is being talked and it has peoples attention thats what they want. Korean most of the time hears what people want why Japanase doesnt do the same instead off ripping off our pockets with features and things that Korean cars can apply to their cars for much less ???

And another thing I used to hate american cars but I have to say in terms of realibilty I am not sure if they have improved but the interior are much better than I used to see. I owned a 98 Grand Prix GTP that and a 94 Z34 Lumina. One car that has blow me away in change are the cadillacs(way better looking than the Lincoln ugly Front Grill) the chevy malibu and cobalt GM has done his interior improvement aloooooooooot all I can say is well done GM. As for Ford I like the improved Mustang way better than last mustang also liked the discontinued GT40 as for Chrysler is still needs improvement alooooot
I rather Buy a Hyundai than an american cars how many agreeds with me ???

well actually the engine in the normal model grand prix, and lumina was very reliable....GM's supercharged engines for whatever reason have always been problematic...which is odd because their turbocharged engines dont have this same issue....but the normal push rod 6 if i remember was highly rated reliability wise even today

This car is probably going to be another ripoff of a german luxury car or lexus just like the Genesis. Hyundai needs to come up with a creative original design for once in their lives
