Dinan working on a 628-hp 2008 BMW M3 Coupe
It’s Friday night and you pull up to a red-light with your girlfriend in your brand new 2008 BMW M3. Then some douche-bag guy pulls up next to you in his 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and pulls down the window and goes “I’ve got 30 more horses than you sucker,” and peels away. Ouch - big shot to your man-hood.

So when 420-hp aren’t enough for you Dinan Cars will come to your rescue. According to Modified Luxury & Exotics News, Dinan will be building a new 2008 BMW M3 with a 5.7L V10 that will produce 628 horsepower.

The model will make its debut right before...

The story doesn't tell you that the guy in the C63 was scared to line up, thats reason why he just took off

Nope, I don't think anybody cares enough about a guy driving a Nissan. Just another ricer...not enough to roll with the big boys.

I didn't know you were so sensitive Star, don't get mad you know I'm just stating facts. Go cry to mommy and ask her to buy you your AMG, that'll make you feel better snub.

No point bringing in the GT-R in this conversation. These are luxury cars built with quality. I've sat and driven the GT-R and it lacks some quality especially the cheap plastic that's in the center control units. It's a great car and fast but it sort of lacked feedback and lacked the pure driving experience. In other words it felt like I was playing a game. Basically an average joe who isn't skilled can drive this well. Not taking anything away from the GT-R but aside from it's performance numbers it's still lacks personality of a Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, you name it. However the price is good for the numbers but don't expect a masterpiece build with Audi type fit and finish. It's good but it ain't that good.

Hasn't Hartge already done this, only with a little less hp.

The guy with the C63 AMG(soon to be me)would never spew such b**ls**t. He would skip the commentary and just smoke that sucker when the light turns green. Lol...

That'll probably be the case for the M3 as well.

So much hate all of a sudden by people who dont own these cars. I think in the real world M3 and C63 drivers arent such cocks, especially to each other, unless they're driving mommy's or daddy's car (or more often, car bought with daddy's money). I hate these tuner vs stock arguments anyway, that game can be reversed and played with the Brabus Bullit Black Arrow too.

AMEN. As I am now driving an M5, I must admit that people are usually not trying to challenge me at stoplights or other boyish activities. This surprises me as I live in a college town with too many rich kids & daddy-bought toys. I get a lot fewer looks and stares than I did in my 650--

No, what's tragic is that you're a 41 year old scumbag who has nothing better to do but pick on people half your age while you pretend to be a hot-shot iBanker with a fleet of BMW's, when in reality you're in the basement of your mom's house using your tear for lube while you beat off to the August issue of Roundel.

I still can't believe you admitted to being over 40! How did you not mature even a little bit between 6th grade and now? I guess it takes that long to cultivate such a staggering level pathetic douchebaggery.

40 and you still act like this. It's just Amazin...

M3 doesn't need more horsepower, it needs more class :)

This thing will be pushing the top of the five figure price range if not over 100K. As an engineering exercise, I guess this will give Dinan something to tinker with but this seems so limited in appeal. The porky convertible use more juice though

this is old news Dinan needs to get their game up HARTGE has done it they called it the H50 they didnt get over 600 horses but the M5/M6 V10 in the M3 is played out. Dont get me wrong I am a BMW fan oh and by the way dont say the RICER GT-R will beat this particular car unless you see the race.....thanks all you stillen or nismo fans.

I wonder how the weight distribution change would affect the handling of the car and if they would compensate with lighter front end components. Should be sick but it's unlikely it will be more than a niche limited production exercise to see if they can do it. I think a twin turbo upgrade would be a much more effective way to go. If they can squeeze the V10 in, i'm assuming that theres room for turbos and intercoolers...

All HP aside isnt that a great looking pic of the M3? Looks so clean in that hue of silver. The refreshed headlights really look slick.

I had been considering this conversion for awhile now. But the two best on the planet at doing this conversion are Hamann & Bremgo, which Hamann uses secretly to do some of their engine conversions when they have a large work load.

The problem I have is getting them a US market M3 Cabriolet and then getting it shipped here to the states to me. Do I order an M3 cab and go European Delivery and drive it to them and when finished ship it to me? Or as Hamann I have discussed they can procure an M3 Cabriolet from BMW with my desired color with custom carbon fiber, convert it and ship to me. And the currency conversion is very serious. And the car looks and runs like it left the factory that way. Revised suspension components, custom exhaust from the headers to the exhaust tips, etc. Most impressive!

I knew Dinan enlarges the S85 V-10 for E60 M5, E63 M6 and E64 M6 Cabriolet. I am talking to Hamann about it but a V-10 M3 Cabriolet is just wild!
