New Mercedes-Benz / AMG SLC Gullwing Spy Video

New Mercedes-Benz / AMG SLC Gullwing Spy Video
This video treats you with the throaty engine sounds of this new sports car so don't be shy with the volume meter on your computer. Specific numbers for this vehicle are unknown and sources such as Carmagazine in the UK are saying it could be sold exclusively under the AMG badge: so you may as well call it the AMG SLC. For the SLC to be sold under the AMG solely, you know that Mercedes-Benz is putting together one serious performance vehicle. Expect the SLC coupe to make it's first appearance in dealership come 2010 and have a price tag in the six figure range.

I'm really excited for this car.

I do not think it will be badged exclusively as an AMG and here is why. From the pictures and articles I've seen on this car, it is supposed to be the "spiritual successor" to the classic 300SL. There is no connection between the legendary 300SL Gullwing and AMG. Would make sense for it to be badged a Benz.

u have a valid point, but sources have said to carmagazine that this could specifically a AMG car, resulting in a new direction/lineup from Mercedes Benz. This car is sure to impress

I have a feeling this car will be out for several years before the LF-A hits the streets (if it ever does).

IF the Toyota ever makes it to production, it won't be in the same class, the MB/AMG will be a class above the LF-A. That is IF the LF-A ever sees the light of day.

Michael Taylor,

Yet another dumb comment. Have you seen the attention to detail in the latest Mercedes? Obviously not. Their cars are very high quality back from the few years of poor execution their back to where they were before.

You know nothing about cars. Mercedes don't look at what Lexus is making when they build a car. It's the other way around. Remember it was Lexus who wanted to be Mercedes :)

LF-A is taking forever because it is trash...The concept is still years away from the final product..no door handles, no side mirrors tailights dont look finished...and i am sure there is more

Wow should be nice, hope they keep the original styling cues, and since the original was one of the fastest production cars at the time I wouldn't be surprised if it's AMG only.

@HondaJapan

This is going to replace the SLR YES, but you are not thinking logically how it is going to replace and the pricing point. SLR was half a million dollars and this will be low six figures- think Audi R8 pricing. One would think it would be a competitor to the R8 when it does come out. It will have the presence like the SLR had but cost significantly less and offer more performance. Sounds like a terrific car to me. No Lexus LFA is going to be able to have the presence or the engine/exhaust note of a AMG vehicle.

I don't know where you got your information about the LF-A having the fastest Nurburgring time. I read on this website that Toyota/Lexus was disappointed in the car's Nurburgring performance, and thus the LF-A is undergoing further revision (and further delay in its introduction).

Profile looks like the old gullwing...or even an old Jag E-Type.

Hopefully it will be more impressive than the SLR.

It will be interesting to see the final product. There is too much camouflage on this "mule" for me to evaluate its looks.
