A latter-day Cimarron. Has Cadillac lost its marbles?

The Cimarron was just a rebadged Cavalier, of course it sucked. That's a bad comparison.

I understand that the Cadillac BLS is a badge-engineered Saab 9.3. Don't do it, Cadillac.

The CTS is about the size of a BMW 5-series, but is priced like a 3-series. You don't need to get a smaller, cheaper car. You might want to put a more fuel-efficient engine in it though. How about a nice turbodiesel?

I just noticed how much the Nissan Sentra looks like Cadillac BLS pictured.

Just because most of us here CARE about horsepower and vehicle dynamics does not mean other people do not. Although I dont understand that...... But I'm sure there is a market for a smooth turbo 4. Good fuel econ and power makes sense, you will probably see more of this from the powers that be i.e. BMW, Mercedes, ect. As long as it isnt in that BLS, in its current state of design it should do well.

To the people talking about this as if it will be a rebadged Cobalt, you need to understand this car will be smaller RWD on a new platform using powertrains like the 2.0 DI Turbo Ecotec (260/260 hp/tq).

I'm guessing the 4-cylinder engine would likely be an existing Opel Ecotec 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder, which in its latest variant (in the Insignia) produces 220 hp and about 258 lb-ft torque. Of course, there are more powerful versions, such as the 240 hp in the Astra OPC and 260 hp in the Cobalt SS, Saturn Sky Redline, and Solstice. This actually might be a good competitor to the entry level A4s and 3-series, though at a slightly lower price as it's slotting in below the CTS.

The V6 may perhaps also be sourced from Opel, which is a 2.8 V6 turbo producing around 260 hp. Although this engine has seen 280 hp (in the outgoing Vectra OPC and current Saab 93 turbo x, it'll probably remain under 300 hp so as to not cannibalize the 300 hp CTS V6).
