Better Fill Up Now - Gas Prices Back On The Rise

Shell will pull 870 rig workers in the next two days, on top of 400 already moved. ConocoPhilips stopped output at its Magnolia platform and Exxon Mobil Corp. is preparing refineries along the coast for the storm. Gustav may strengthen to become a hurricane as it enters the Gulf of Mexico, home to 26 percent of U.S. production, on Sept. 1, the National Hurricane Center said.

``It's the most dangerous storm of the season,'' said Carsten Fritsch, a Commerzbank AG analyst in Frankfurt. ``The question will be the strength of the hurricane. Some say it will be as serious as Katrina, but that's the worst case scenario.''

I memory serves me correctly at least it wasn't until Katrina ravaged the gulf petroleum system did the prices rise. Why wait when you can speculate.

It's a quick spike until the canes pass by. They were not goin up with Gustav, but now that Hanna is in the area they are concerned more about the time of keeping men off the platforms than anything else which equals loss of production.

They will be back down in a few weeks. Paid $3.75 today, it's nice to be under $45 a fillup now with my Matrix.

It's $3.75 for 87 in CT right now in my town. CT is one of the highest in the country too for gas.

I got to move, $4.03 over here in laguna beach and that's for regular. Stupid X3 get's 18mpg's, does anyone know how I can turn AWD into RWD, that would save this car.

Wow $3.35 thats good. Here in South Florida cheapest I've seen for regular was $3.60, mid-grade was $3.70, and premium was $3.80. Diesel was at $4.10
