The Chevrolet Volt craze continues as we await the arrival of the most anticipated plug-in hybrid due out in 2010. We already know that GM is considering a Cadillac version of the Volt. GM executives are now considering a Pontiac version.

Susan, Docherty, GM’s North American vice president of Buick, Pontiac and GMC is suggesting that if one of the three brands were to get a version of the Volt, it most probably be a Pontiac - which would most likely have to be fun, fast, quick and sharp.

To be honest here, this idea doesn't stand a chance of happening. GM will have a very limited supply of battery packs and components. Chevy has first dibs on those since the whole Volt concept is tied directly to it. Caddy could get a version since it is GMs premium brand. But Pontiac isn't a fit for the idea of a Volt. It is supposed to be excitement, soul, and performance not necessarily economy. Quite frankly I would expect the Pontiac brand manager to try and make the case for a new exciting product to come to their brand (it is her job after all).

bring all the volts they can, the more there are the cheaper they will be, the more likely I can get one for my dad.
