Toyota Remains Unconvinced That US Auto Sales Have Hit Bottom Yet
Despite signs of steadier US auto sales in August, it remains uncertain whether industrywide sales in the largest vehicle market have hit bottom, Toyota Motor Corp Vice Chairman Kazuo Okamoto said on Friday.

"It's hard to say whether the U.S. market has hit bottom," Okamoto told reporters.

Honestly they should be unconvinced. The automotive market is only a hurricane away from $4.00/gallon gas and at that price I am sure a whole lot of people will be holding off on purchasing a new car.
