Video: Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR's record Nurburgring run

Last week we told you about Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR’s record breaking 7:22.1 lap around the famous Nurburgring in Germany. Chrysler has now released an official video of the lap. The car was driven by Dutch WTCC driver Tom Coronel who beat Corvette ZR1’s 7:26.4 time.

Refresher: Power comes from an 8.4-liter aluminum V10 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft. of torque. Pricing starts at $98,110 including an $850 destination charge. Oh, and Chrysler may sell its Dodge Viper business.

hmm...first the gt-r, then the zr-1 and now the viper...guess 'soul' and 'passion' can only get you so far(and cost you a great amount). good job chrysler. and btw...the zr-1 is frekkin sweet!

As good as the gt-r, zr1, and this str10 acr is it will never be a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Porsche. There is nothing more rewarding to drive than a QUALITY product with a distinct howl or growl and also real super car styling. You get what you pay for and those of you who can't see that, it only shows you haven't had the privilege of sitting or driving one of those cars.

Actually, the Viper is- for the price- an incredibly well engineered machine. When Mercedes bought Chrysler- the first question asked by German engineers visiting the Chrysler factories was "where are the Wipers?".

The Detroiters were confused, until they figured out the Germans meant 'Vipers'. While the E Class became the platform for the 300C, the Viper played a major role in the making of the SLR and others. The Viper may look crude, but inferior it isn't.

NURBURG IS THE MOST CHALLENGING COURSE OUT THERE I AM SURE ANOTHER CAR WILL TAKE THE NEW RECORD SOON BUT THATS PRETTY GOOD
