Vw Golf BlueMotion Concept: just 99 g/km of CO2

All of you know about the Polo BlueMotion, a ”green” vehicle from the German manufacturer. Today, the Polo BlueMotion has a competitor, from…you’ll be surprised…from Volkswagen. Yest, the German manufacturer unveiled today the remarkable Golf BlueMotion concept vehicle, a car capable of achieving a combined 74.3 mpg while emitting just 99 g/km of CO2. This matches the economy of the Polo BlueMotion, itself among the most efficient vehicles currently on sale.

The new Golf BlueMotion concept is powered by an efficient 1.6-litre TDI common rail diesel engine capable to develop 105 PS and 184 lbs ft of torque at 2,000 rpm. The vehicle can reach 62 mph from rest in 11.3 seconds and has a top speed of 117 mph.

Its about time, the last gen Golf TDI had 55mpg (some owners claimed it topped 60) and was available 8 years ago. Of course it was a dirty engine in comparison. This new one will be great and it can even run on alt fuels such a biodiesel.
