Best Exotic: Ford GT

A new category this year, the GT is a nod to the '60s racers that won LeMans, and Ford designed it to celebrate the firm's centennial.

Best Sports Car: Chevrolet Corvette

This was hotly contested. When all the votes were in, Audi's award- winning A8 sedan again came out on top as America's Best Luxury Car.

Best Sedan: BMW 3 Series

Best Coupe/Convertible: Ford Mustang

Best People Mover: Honda Odyssey

For the fourth straight year, the Honda Odyssey emerges victorious. That's no small feat, especially when you consider that while this year's winner is brand-new, so, too, are other carmakers' offerings.

Best SUV/Off-Road Vehicle: Porsche Cayenne

Close race in this category, but Porsche Cayenne came out on top. This thing is a beast and comes in three varieties: V6, V8 and turbo version. All handle the rigors of off-roading well.

Best Truck: Ford F-Series

The F-150 takes its eighth straight America's Best Truck win! All-new in 2004, the F-150 offers more powerful engines, more room for passengers and cargo, and standard-issue tough-looking sheetmetal that resonates with the faithful.

Best Economy Car: Mazda 3

Another repeat winner in this ultra-competitive Economy category. Readers love it because it is a great car to drive; responsive, the gearbox is snappy, and its 2.0-liter four-cylinder is powerful enough.

I think Autoweek tailor’s to a different audience than this website does. I’m a reader of autoweeks website and what I noticed is that, while all of us on here like talking more about the high end upscale manufacturers, you read autoweeks blogs and they are praising all these POS American cars like the corvette and mustang. I personally can’t stand the new mustang, but you read their blogs and just about everyone who posts something loves the damm car. I totally feel outnumbered most of the time. C’mon they put four American cars on their top list, five if you count mazda as a ford. I think they favor American cars, and shouldn’t count them as being serious. The Europeans have been perfecting their engineering and design since the beginning and the Asians are leading the way in technology. I would think these two types of cars would dominate the list.

huu...b4 making comments like that...make sure u know what the car is called first. its a "Ferrari F430" not a "Ferrari 430 Modena". i agree with all the choices except the exotic...they got that completely wrong. it shud b the Bugatti Veyron. after all...it is the fastest production car ever made. and its exremely expensive...i think priced at over a mil pounds.

Best Exotic Car is definitely the Ferrari F430, compare handling and ride!

Best Sports Car is the Porsche 911, if they choose the corvette based on price they are making the choice unfairly. The 997 is a true road handling, balanced car like a sports car should!

Best SUV: Does Belong to the Cayenne, I love my Turbo, best car out there. Range Rover Sport has nothing on the Cayenne, no matter which engine they put in there it will not out handle the Cayenne on the road and is sure less expensive to maintain than the Range Rover!!
