EXCLUSIVE Shots Of BMW's Latest 5-Series

Sorry guys, don´t be disappointed to hear it, but
the car on the photos is a new 7 series.

I live in Berlin and i´m a salesman for BMW since 1996,
and the car will be launched on 16.11.2008.
So there are a few cars on the road in Germany without
the badges. Take a look at the interior shot,
it´s definetely a 7 series. a 730d, you see the
round exhaust pipes.

It's definetly a BMW 7 series, and to add to that, probably a 730i or a 730d (the 750 comes with dual exhausts seperated.)

I agree, the promo shots were utterly unflattering, this looks great!

I agree with both of you. The new 7 looks far better in these pics than in the promo pics. The proportions look MUCH more flattering here.

The 7 series looked like a let-down when it was unveiled. Some later shots looked promising, but these pics look horrendous

The new 7 is one of those cars that look much better in dark colours. I think black will be the best colour on it.

Definitely a short body 7 series and the grill is just as ugly even with the black car.

Looks like it is a short wheelbase 7 but the reader who submitted the photos claimed it was the 5.

Even if the nest gen 5-series were this far in development, there is no way that an OEM would allow it to drive around with this little covering.

so funny that you say that...if there was ever a girlie Benz, the current CLK is it.

You guys are all full of it if you say the CLK 63 is a chick car or that it sucks.
I have a CLK 550 cab, you may say it s a chick car but its plenty fast, more luxurious and bigger than your 3 series bimmers.
Also the front end of the new 7 is not very nice. The proportions of the rest of the car are very nice and the interior is much better but the grill has got to go.

I think its safe to say that you guys have no clue what the Black Series iis.

Of course we know what a black series is...it's a very rare CLK with a monstrous engine and other mods, super expensive, meant to inject some profits at MB and some balls to the CLK line, which it desparately needs.

For the record, I'm not a Benz hater...I just haven't loved them for a long time, but the CLK range is especially pretty, and just too feminine looking. I always expect to see some 60 year old female empty nester driving them.

have you seen a black series in person? i dont think it looks very feminine at all.

Of course it's too early for a 5 to be seen like that, and the "editors" should have known it was a 7, but I have to admit, it does look a lot like what I'd expect the next 5 to look like. I think I like it too...kind of old school BMW.

Thankfully we got that cleared. Just an ugly 7 and not the new 5. My heart almost sank when I saw those pics. BTW, that thing is fugly!! I hope the 5er is as pretty as the current one.

Horrible for now. I have to see the car in the real life. And for sure it is the 5 series but I don´t like it.

I think it's a 7-series.

I'm going to have to wait and see this car in person to make my judgment. Sometimes photos don't do justice and sometimes photos do too much. It's inspired by that BMW concept that we've seen on this site. Like I said I won't judge until I see better quality photos or even better, in person.

Alright, it looks like BMW is admiting its mistakes and fixing their interiors. As for the exterior its just like the 7 series.

I blew the doors off of an M6. The M6 gets nowhere near the attention that my car gets. It's obviously not because it looks girly. The regular clk coupes serve that purpose. You can doubt all you want. Do whatever you want to make yourself feel okay about me driving the Black Series.

And you obviously dont know what the black series seats look like...

The CLK BLK is amazing... Don't even go there, 550i driver. It's a DTM car without the add-ons.

Looks like BMW will turtlesize their whole lineup.

The 5 series needs a makeover too. IT's a nice modern looking car but the headlights are a little hard to digest.
