VW considering Passat CC diesel for US

More and more carmakers are considering diesel engines for the U.S. market, despite a traditional perception that the oil-burners would be unwelcome. The simple truth is that diesels are a cheaper and easier way to improve fuel economy without sacrificing much performance than just about any alternative.

With tighter CAFE standards looming, everyone from BMW to Mercedes to Chrysler is employing diesel for precisely those reasons - and that’s what makes the Volkswagen CC such a likely candidate for the fuel as well.

that would be nice plus you can get alot more power out of a deisel especially if its modified. I am a cls fan but the more I see this car the more I like it

VW/Audi's 2.0TDI is the absolute best 4 banger diesel on the market today. Stick it in a Rabbit/Golf and it's going to be a HOT seller. Fun and 40MPG? WHOA.

This is where Ford Screw-Up with the Lincoln Town Car. Great Car, but a gas engine.

Lincoln Owners tend to be gentlemen looking for something beyond the norm. We want a company that back us up at the pump with efficience, and back us up in durability and reliability.

A great car needs to be built to last long-term.

VW is doing things right. Mercedes and Audi have thier act together as well.

With Town Cars being plentiful in New York City, youd think Ford would power these vehicles with a Diesel.

I'd like to see a 2009 Model year Passat Diesel Wagon. The A5 Diesel Wagon sounds promising as well, and may likely exceede the manual shift paddles that Ford has planned to boost efficiency, although I will say that Ford is definately pursuiting a worthy cause on dual-clutch manual transmissions.

CC with diesel power...I would purchase IMMEDIATELY!
but with gas power the only U.S. option...
Volkswagen can keep them!
