Peugeot unveils 908 HY hybrid supercar
It looks like the final round of the 2008 Le Mans Series at Silverstone will bring something unique from Peugeot, the French manufacturer: it’s new 908 HY, the hybrid supercar. Based on the 908 HDi, the 908 HY will feature a kinetic energy recovery system, that enables a proportion of the kinetic energy produced under braking to be either recovered or stored.

Due to this the vehicle is improved in one of two ways: either the performance will be increased without increasing the fuel consumption of the or the fuel consumption will be reduced for the same level of performance thanks to the availability of stored mechanical energy.

Guess what, Audi won the manufacturers championship over Peugeot, and Audi's drivers won the drivers championship as well. Too bad facts get in your way once again.

The hybrid 908 can possibly add more performance, or give 3-5% more fuel economy which is quite small.
