Video: 2011 Chevrolet Volt

The much-anticipated production version of the Chevrolet Volt has finally been officially unveiled! The Volt uses the electricity to travel up to 40 miles and when the battery is empty, then a gasoline powered engine generator provides the electricity needed while simultaneously sustaining the engine. The Chevrolet Volt can be re-charged into a standard household 120v outlet or use 240v. The charging takes about eight hours on a 120v outlet and less than three hours on a 240v outlet.

Concept wasn't aerodynamic. Understood. But gosh how exactly does that explain the Stratus-inspired phony black paint on the doors? Or the grossly elongated rear passenger doors? The RAISED roof line?

You want to add more rake to the windshield, so you... SHORTEN THE HOOD?

GM promised us a hot rod. What do they give us? A bloated family sedan that sips gas. GM doesn't get it. Gas is expensive, but THIS expensive.

The people who design these cars are paid a stunning amount of money. Therefore, hey should be held responsible when they fail. If heads don't roll after this, and GM shares continue their decline, GM can say bye BYE to the USA. I'm sure there are thirty-year old women in China and Bangalore who will love this thing.

The video of the drivers display is really cool.

It seriously looks like a car from the future.
