Volkswagen pickup debuting next week

According to the pickup crazy guys at PickupTrucks.com, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced that it will display a concept version of Volkswagen’s upcoming pickup at the 62nd IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover next week.

This is totally going to be a flop from the day it is available for sale. It will be like the next Lincoln Blackwood. VW and pickups do not go together anymore, maybe when they had that little thing years ago but not anymore. This will go the way of the dinosaur very shortly upon release.

I know the Tundra may not have the history of an American truck but compare all the trucks available in this class which appears will be more the Tacoma, Canyon, Colorado, Frontier. And the VW will for sure be blasted and not win any comparos, aside from the supple interior.

Ah but expect plenty of "German Engineering" commercials which dont touch upon any specifics on the vehicle other than it's country of origin (but not necessarily where it's actually made)

Got to love that new Routan commercial. Does Brooke Sheilds know that it's really a Chrylser under the skin?

Is it based on the terrible Dodge Dakota? What are they thinking? First the Routon, now this. I know VW reliability is horrible but now they've sunck even further.

I applaud them for trying, but it probably won't sell due to the cost of gas (Which is going up AGAIN dammit!)
