Formula 2 Makes A Come Back Centered On Williams Chassis And Audi Engines
Jonathan Palmer has been giving more details about the new Formula 2, which will start in May next year. Palmer has won the FIA tender process to not only supply the cars to the championship, but also to be the commercial rights holder to the new series.

His aim is to extend the concept he has pioneered with Formula Palmer Audi in the course of the last nine seasons in Britain. Palmer, who also controls a number of circuits and is promoter of the British Superbike Championship, will negotiate the TV deals for F2 and organise the calendar of races.

It is unlikely that we will see F2 running in conjunction with Formula 1, but it is likely that the new series will run alongside the FIA World Touring Car Championship at some events, perhaps with the Le Mans Series or DTM and there will also probably be a number of stand-alone Formula 2 events in the course of the year.

GP2 it the feeder series to Formula One. Formula 2 is not,and is no different then formula BMW or Renault which are great series, but are below GP2.Im assuming 09 posted this b/c the word Audi was in it, big surprise.

From what I understand they are changing the cars to compete with GP2. GP2 isn't an FIA series while F1 is. Von Max wasn't too happy about Bernie creating the GP2 series without the FIA's involvement.

I reported on the Formula BMW when it came into the limelight, I also report on Lexus success in Rolex racing regularly.

GP2 races at all of F1's venues there is very strong connection between the two series, most F1 drivers come from GP2.

sad my favourite Bruno Senna didn't win the GP2 championship but i hope he's part of Formula1 next year. Toro Rosso seat left by Vettel is a possibility.

And great win by Vettel. Surely the next Superstar.
