2008 Mercedes SL500 by Lorinser

2008 Mercedes SL500 by Lorinser
What you see in the photos is a true masterpiece! Developed by Lorinser and based on the face-lifted Mercedes SL 500. The new kit from the German tuning house consists in a new front bumper and front grille, new fenders in Lorinser style, side skirts, a rear trunk spoiler and a new rear bumper with new exhaust cutters as well as a new integrated air diffuser.

The new RS 9 integrate perfectly to the design and give a plus of personality to the vehicle. Drivers that aren’t satisfied with potent series engines can soon look forward to an optimisation from Lorinser engineers.

No where near as good as a Jaguar XKR.

Give me a hit of what you are smoking!

Didn't the British colonize India? Now who owns who?

Lorinser is in the business of making beautiful Mercedes into ugly-mobiles. Dont understand how that's a viable business plan but it seems to work for them.

Last time I checked Lorinser's target market wasn't the ghetto crowd. There isn't enough money in the ghetto to support a 78yr old, iconic german company.

I could be wrong.

In Asia and Europe they are known as the SL500. In America, to show that they upgraded the engine, it's shown as SL550 (5.5 Liters). I am not sure why the different names, but they all have the same engine.

I think the 500 name has more recognition and tradition at Mercedes (ala 500E, SL500 etc), and Europeans connect with that. As Americans are into the "bigger stick" mentality (hey, I am too) the marketing people decided what would sound better to our ears. I dont blame them.

Also the C300 is called the C280 in europe. Probably because the 280 badge has a lot of history at Merc, and Americans like to see bigger numbers. It's odd though because it is a 3.0 litre.

That lower side valence really looks tacked on. Just get an AMG black edition!

Eeew. Way too overdone. I agree about the AMG Black.

Love it. Minus the lorinser badge on the grille (small badge on hood is just fine) and the wheels (I prefer a flatter wheel vs a curved one)

I've grown to appreciate how the base car looks with that refreshed headlamps. I've liked some of Lorinser's back in the day but the S-Class but definitely not feeling this Lorinser SL. I'm more of a fan of Brabus tuned Merc's but better yet the simplicity and cleanliness of a factory AMG model.

I saw a new SL yesterday, it looked really good actually. Very purposeful.

Destroyed it. I have also seen several of the new SLs, and they're very beautiful in person. Great update to an aging design. It makes the 03-08 SL look a bit bland.

I like the front and rear fascia the side skirts need to "go back to the drawing board". the wheels are also not a classic lorinser look

looks good to me, just replace those wheels
