Texting is worse than driving drunk

Texting is worse than driving drunk
We think texting while driving is becoming even more dangerous with phones like the iPhone and LG Dare where one can’t feel out the keys and has to actually look at the phone to text - but we didn’t know things were this bad. According to a new research, texting is more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol or marijuana.

Transport Research Laboratory recently conducted a research for the RAC Foundation on young drivers between the ages of 17-24. They found that reaction time was decreased by 21 percent for those under the influence of marijuana and 12 percent for those above the alcohol limit.

For those that are texting, TRL found that reaction time decreased by...

Honestly...there's no such thing as a more/less hazardous hazard. All hazards are harmful nevertheless. People should use common sense...but then again, if common sense was an easy step towards safety, we wouldn't need our endless lists of laws.

Just as long as the government doesn't go crazy with absurd regulations for the sake of both safety and money, I wouldn't mind putting my phone down while driving.

The government will go crazy.

I was in the UK recently and found out you can't eat or drink while driving. Something Americans do without much thought.

You will end up on a camera!

If this more common habit would put only the on the phone driver's life at risk, i wouldn't give at damn, but it puts everyone else's at risk.
Just put the damn phone down and drive!!

Texting is worse than holding and talking on the phone, I have done so, but usually just to answer and say Im driving just now can I call back in a few minutes, or better still use hands free, texting is just plain stupid, but then many people are, I`ve seen someone trying to read a newspaper draped over the steering wheel on a motorway in New Zealand, but that`s no suprise, they are among the worlds worst drivers if not the worst

I text all the time, I never look at the phone while driving. I could never use one of the iphone Dare's cause I want to feel the buttons I am pushing to ensure I am writing it correctly.

T9/Word is a great feature that everyone should use, it creates words for you so you are not ABC'ing all through the alphabet to get your type made. Look into it.

Driving whilst texting is quite simply one of the most dangerous things people do on the road; the fact that many younger inexperienced drivers are the ones most addicted to texting they don’t seem to be able to understand that driving can be deadly if you don’t concentrate and texting isn’t important in comparison.
