And thats all interesting about this old-mans boat...

Why are we still being totured with pictures og this Mini-Cooper-7-Series???

It's hard enough as it is we have to live another 5 or 6 years on something that looks already outdated and hasn't been release yet....

Is this all BMW could do because people was only paying $300 a month on their 3-Series Leases???

Only one very minor (hardly noticeable) design flaw: 14 spokes on the wheels rather than 15. I want the number of spokes to match the number of bolts or be a multiple of the number of bolts.

Do you know what I love about the styling of the 2009 BMW 7?

It's conservative, and that has got Lexus going nuts.

I find it annoying that BMW takes a conservative styling and still cannot get it right. I don't like AUDI but maybe this is the reason why its sales goes up. Too many bad design since E90 3. It really prevents me from trading in the E46.

Finally, updated back lighting. I was tired of the orange too. The display looked very much ancient and was considering how long it has been around in BMWs. I am happy for the switch in lighting and updated gauges!

Submarines use red instrument lighting and the USAF uses blue filtered white light in cockpits I have seen. I find that my old eyes focus better on numbers with blue and white lighting than on red lighting and I do not have glaucoma or anything. Tired old eyes work ok with green lighting as well.

EnnNorakEnnNorak - 9/22/2008 6:56:06 PM

I have to agree with you because the A8 is made of aluminum which does not rust and the S-class has the best seats on the planet. Moreover the AWD system of the A8 is unmatched because of the Torsen ® center differential that it uses. BMW has an advantage in the 6-cylinder engine department as its 6-cylinder engines are in line while the 90-degree V6 configuration in Audi and Mercedes engines is inherently out of balance.

The last few pictures looked like they were from BMW's Individual division.

The wheel has a chrome strip where it usually says "Individual," making that evidence number one.
Evidence number 2 is the surprisingly warm feeling in the latter pictures.
Evidence number 3 is the different pattern of "dual-tone" effects (except for the seat belts) and the interesting wood.

And then there's the fact that the rear armrests seem to be even harder to fold up. My 730 Li from the outgoing generation has that problem. Even a little kid complains about that seat.
Anyways, I must admit that the rear armrest is better looking than the five-seater Lexus LS. I only wish that they added more rich leather to the door and extensive double stitching in another color (which goes against my theory that the latter pictures were previews of the Individual 7 model).

Awesome car nevertheless.

In RE 1dott8's comment 'is that an interior shot of the A8? the idrive looks like mmi with the surrounding buttons. as a matter of fact, the whole center console looks audi-esque'...

BMW better had hope nobody spills their coffee on that center console. Audi A8's have a huge problem in that if a drink is dumped on the MMI, start button, trans selector, etc. the car's CPU electronics short out - as Audi located them under the console. Costs about $4000 to sort out.

Anybody dump coffee on their BMW 'joystick' transmission selector yet (X5, 5 series, 6 series) and care to share whether the car required a big repair?

MB's console has only minimal electronics, so avoid's this fate

One of the worst looking cars ever produced. BMW took the wrong parts of the CS concept when they designed this. So disappointing...

Two words, it Fugly and Ugly.....I cannot belief this design came from BMW? The current BMW 7 Series look way better than this, come on BMW...what were you thinking when you design this?

The front light look like it borrow from the new MB C-class, and the rear light look like it from a Hyundai?

I guess the Hyunai Genesis is definite going to steal sales from this BMW 7-Series as well. Yeah...Yeah..laugh all you want, remember what happen when Lexus first came out, people laugh at them, and look at them now.

Between this and the Hyundai Genesis, I would choose the Genesis anyday. You want to know why? because I am NOT a Badge Whores, that why.

And what with the front bumper? it Stick out, like it wearing braces or something.

Totally a loser, ugly, and fugly when compare to the MB S-Class, Audi A8, Lexus LS460/600 hl, and the Hyundai Genesis.

I got to say this new 7 is really nice, especially the interior, it’s gorgeous.

And, as usual we do not see any German fan boy here acknowledging the exhaust copy of the LS460. But that's ok, ideas have always been shared between engineers, and each one put their own touches on them that what gives us variety of products and creates competitions.

Again a really bad design from Bangle. Can't they just come up w/ something that looks as nice and balanced as my E46?

Why is the nose this huge?
Why does the tail light look so cheezy plastic? Spider man?
Is the wood grain directly from Home Depot?

I'm sure it drives fine and the engine is great, but It basically looks like a stretched 5 series. BMW can never get its flagship right against Mercedes or even Lexus now.

Alas, who cares, I'll just buy the 3 series.
