Corvette ZR1 finally dyno tested

It was only a matter of time until the first dyno charts for the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 hit the web and here they are courtesy of Pennsylvanian tuner PCM.

Engineers conducted their tests using two separate cars running on a Dynojet dynamometer, with the resulting average of the two highest recordings coming in at 535hp (400kW) at the wheels.

This had to music to the ears that were in attendance of this dyno pull . Imagine being able to see and hear all that horsepower being unleashed with the car standing still . That being said , this type of dyno run is a developed horsepower run , meaning how fast it can get the 1800 lbs or so wheel spining and processing the information and sending it through the dyno's computer and giving the readings as far as torque and HP measurements go . What I always wanted to know is , how much horsepower would this engine make if it was a "brake horsepower " pull? This would be where the engine would be put up against a water or an electric brake . This type of dyno would have a load put on it in a graduated amount along with increased throttle opening until the engine reaches maximum RPM and horsepower . At this point the horsepower reading is taken . This got a little off topic but I thought I would throw it out for debate .
