Next Jaguar XJ will be more like a Bentley than a BMW

According to David Blackhall, managing director of Jaguar and Land Rover in Australia and New Zealand, the next-generation Jaguar XJ flagship sedan is just 12 to 18 months away. We learned last week that Jaguar filed for patents for the ‘C-XJ’ and ‘C-XE’ names meaning two concepts with the pussycat emblem are on the way.

“We’ll have new XJ in the next brief period of time, in the next 12 to 18 months or whatever and that car I expect to be… positioned significantly upmarket from where the current vehicle is,” said Blackhall in an interview with GoAuto.

Just because the XF looks a lot better than the bangle E60. The XF model ranges will be beautiful cars for years to come.

Jaguar has a rich history and with the new ownership funding all these projects i'm confident it'll be another successful model. Sales may not skyrocket but Jaguars are not for everyone. It's a niche market in the automotive industry. I can't wait!

From Dot i always said the Xf was Cheap and Looked it, I still Do.

Find me another Luxury Sedan that has Rectangular End attachments stuck on Round Tailpipes with little regard for Visual Aesthetics. From 50 meters away i can see how cheap it looks.

Then we get to the Lincoln LS style switchgear on the Interior, I guess they were hoping the Retractable Gear Selector Roundel will distract potential buyers till after they've purchased the vehicle and left the Dealership Grounds.

The thing about Subpar items is that they will always be exposed, might be sooner, might be later, but exposed it always ends up.

The XF does not look cheap at all, take a look at an XF Supercharged in Black or silver and you will see how cool it really is, both the XF & XK kick all of the competitions arses, the next XJ will continue this trend...

They plan to move the next Range Rover to the next level in 2012-2013 as well.

Aluminum construction should help to justify the price increase.

This is a good decision.

lol your kidding your right....Jaguar has not been the best, but one thing is for sure they certainly have beaten the S class/7/A8 with the Xj in more than one test,as it doesnt feel as heavy and cumbersome as the other cars .....there is no excuse as to why they couldnt have fought higher end brands before other than the sheer fact that they didnt have the resources....in my opnion Jaguar should be exactly where Maserati is, they have the prestige, and are working on the product, and now the financial backing. If Bentley can sell a VW Phaeton, and people not turn there noses up I doubt jaguar returning to their V12, high end prestige days wont be scoffed at.....but pricing, timing, and product will be important extremely

My only hope is that now Jaguar & Land Rover is owned by a Company with MONEY, the engineers might be given more freedom to produce truly wonderful machinery as they ought to.
No more meddling by Ford Bean-Counters and Focus Group Idiots.
